It was very difficult to find lodging for just one night on a weekend in Venice, but fortunately Casa Baseggio accepted our request. Since we had such a short visit Marco suggested a small local museum instead of the crowded spots with long waiting lines, and his suggestion was perfect. Also we had a delicious meal at a quiet local... More

We stayed in Venice for three nights. I couldn't imagine staying in the "downtown" area. This little B&B was just far enough away without being far away. When we got there we took the €7 water boat. We did this because the directions Marco gave us included the boat. It was worth paying to find the b&b! Marco emailing directions--... More

We stay for 3 nights in April. We loved that the room was clean, quiet and bright. We also loved that the B&B is in a neighbourhood away from the masses of tourists, but close enough to the main parts of Venice to get there in a short walk. The owners were fantastic. Alessandra in particular was extremely helpful, friendly... More

We had a fantastic stay here. The rooms and house are very clean and well decorated. These are the best beds which we have slept on in Venice. It is nice and quiet at night, we could sleep just fine with the window open. Marco was a wonderful host and he prepared our breakfast on the beautiful veranda. It is... More

While the B&B is not centrally located, you get to see more of Venice by walking the back sidewalks and canals to get to and from it. When pressed one time, we made it from the Doge's Palace back to the B&B in 15 minutes. But the leisurely stroll was better. The room was great, but the best part was... More

This family-run B&B is situated in a quiet courtyard in the Cannaregio district, very well placed for Orto ond Fondamente Nove vaporetti stops (Orto is the airport Allilaguna boat stop). From the airport arrivals, it's a 10 minute walk to the dock, and the fast boat runs every 30 minutes, and takes about 30-40 minutes to reach Orto. You can... More

Marco and Alessandro made us extremely welcome. The room and facilities are excellent. Perfect location to make you feel you are living as a 'local' not a tourist. breakfast on the sunny balcony overlooking a quiet courtyard.. Wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed four nights at Casabaseggio. The location was perfect, in a quiet local residental district within easy walking distance of restaurants, cafes, shopping and interesting historical sites. Marco and Alessandro were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed breakfasts outside on the balcony. Marcos instructions to find the apartment were very easy to follow.

We loved that this B&B was off the beaten path, away from tourist areas. We appreciated the quiet and proximity to restaurants frequented by locals. Marco will happily give you recommendations for other areas as well, but the best meal we had in Venice was nearby! Note that this is a B&B, not a hotel. We had the ground floor... More

We stayed at Casa Baseggio for three nights in July. It is an historic house in a great location - quiet, relatively un-touristy, but within walking distance of the main attractions. I fully expected to get lost finding the house but the instructions were excellent. Marco was a charming host, welcoming us to a lovely double room with an en-suite.... More

Located in the historical center, Casabaseggio is situated in the wing of an ancient building which was part, already in 1300, of a Franciscan convent. From the terrace where in the summer breakfast is served is possible to enjoy the peace of the garden which was constituting an ancient cloister and is also possible to notice through the cypresses the very ancient Abbey Of The Mercy (Abbazia della Misericordia). The rooms with bathroom are elegantly furnished and provided with all the modern comforts (TV, air conditioning, fridge, hair-dryer, sound-proofing, free WI-FI). It’s possible to add one bed for babies and children up to 4 years old who are lodged free of charge. Breakfast is typically continental, with some Venetian speciality. ... more   less
