We stayed for two nights with Davide & Ciprea at their B&B, in the downstairs room. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Davide & Ciprea were so accommodating because we arrived on an overnight train so they allowed us to turn up to their home at 10am and they had already cleaned the room and bathroom ready... More

I am amazed at the good reviews of this place because I found the B&B service quite bad. Let me list down my experience at this place Pros: Clean room with bathroom in it (room name: Oriente on first floor) Cons on the location: 1. Far away from Tourist attractions. San Marco square is about 25 minutes away by walking... More

Hello Meera, we are sorry to read you had a so bad experience with us. Usually people are happy about it! 1 &2) We are 15 minutes walking or 5 by public boat far away far from San Marco square. Our "sestiere" is a living, traditional area of the town, as you can read on most guide books, washings hanged... More

Our family of seven stayed at the Ciprea B&B two nights during early April, 2015. There are two bedrooms (one sleeps three with the bathroom en suite, the other sleeps four with the bathroom down the hall). The location of the B&B is perfect – in the Castello neighborhood just a 15 minute walk from St. Mark’s Square and a... More

This B&B is located about 15min walk from Piazza San Marco, a scenic walk along the Grand Canal, and two minutes from the Giardino waterbus stop. We arrived late at night and Ciprea picked us up at the waterbus stop. We stayed in the ground floor room across the hall from the kitchen, with our own bathroom down the hall.... More

Please accept my apologies about the noise of my kids , some times it's really hard to stop them ! By the way I really did not realize you was not able to remove 2 the hooks to open the 2 windows in the room ... sometime people like more privacy and hold the shutterns closed... Anyway it was a... I had no hesitation in booking this marvellous b and b because many reviews were very positive: quiet area, excellent hosts, not far from Piazza San Marco, family oriented, close to restaurants and traghetto stop... When we arrived we found ms Ciprea waiting for us at the traghetto stop and helped us with luggage and showed us the way. Very... More

Ciprea B&B is a lovely place to stay in Venice. Located in an authentic Venetian residential neighbourhood, it is quiet, peaceful, and away from the chaotic summer crowds. We stayed in the upstairs room (Oriente) for 2 nights from 15 to 17 July, and it was clean, neat and comfy. Wifi connection was good. Ciprea and Davide are warm and... More

Our family of four stayed here for 3 nights in early July after another B&B referred us when they were full. We mainly dealt w/ Ciprea who was a friendly kind woman and set up a lovely table each morning for breakfast. We got directions from Davide and we used Google maps to find the house. Davide offered to pick... More

The slow boat (vaporetto#1 make sure you are going San Marco via Rialto) down the Grand Canal leaves you at the stop "Giardini"(it's the 3rd stop after Piazza San Marco) which is about a 5 minute walk to this B&B run by a husband and wife. You should call David who comes and gets you because their B&B is difficult... More

Ciprea B&B is great! I sent an enquiry to a B&B but it's fully booked so the owner recommended Ciprea B&B. They proactively reached out to me and everything just fell into place then :) Davide was very prompt in email communication prior to our arrival in Venice, and was very helpful in providing directions to get to their place... Ciprea B&B is a wonderful place. Good location, very clean bathroom and rooms. It is 2 min walk from varpetto stop Giardini and about 15 min walk from St. Marco plaza(2 stops on varpetto) Our room was on the main level, it was big and comfortable, the only inconvenience was that our bathroom was in main hallway. If we come... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
