We stayed at Palazzo Barbarigo for 5 nights during the film festival week and was so surprised (in a positive way) how quiet the place was. We usually like small hotels with unobtrusive but professional service and calm atmosphere so Palazzo Barbarigo was a great choice for us. And what a fabulous location! The hotel is right on and facing... More

We have just returned from a fabulous weekend at the Palazzo Barbarigo. We were there for a family celebration and our group ranged from a three year old to grandparents. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay and Valentina, Ivan, Cristiano and all the staff looked after us wonderfully - booking restaurants (great recommendations) and water taxis, as well as making mojitos... We had a brilliant stay in this wonderful hotel. Arrival by water taxi gives you a great view of venice so you already in love with the city by the time you reach its waterfront doors. The location in the San Polo district is perfect being close enough for easy access across Rialto bridge to San Marco Square yet you... More

Positive: - Great contemporary design (if you like black) - Central but quiet location - All rooms have water view (but just a few directly on the Grand Canal itself) - Intimate hotel - Good breakfast (for Italy) - Service generally good - if not always as warm as it should be Negative: - A few signs of wear and... Stayed here in the off season & what a beautiful place it is. Quite difficult to find if you're not coming via water taxi as the "front door" is down a few dark, windy alley ways. I picked this hotel over the others as I didnt want a "chintzy" Italian room - this is one of vary few more modern... More

Dear BecsinLon, Your review testify that the magic of Venice does not depend from the season, but it’s all year! A stay at Palazzo Barbarigo can be a fantastic experience also in the low season. Thank you very much, we all can not wait to welcome you again. More

We stayed for 3 nights and would recommend this hotel. Slightly tricky to find it sits on the grand canal in San Palo a much nicer are near San Marco but not as crowded. It's easy to walk everywhere. The rooms are nice and breakfast covers all bases.

I stayed here in July for a few days with my wife. Firstly, if you are looking for a great hotel and intend to enjoy some fantastic romantic dinners in Venice arrive by the private river taxis from the airport. One minute we were being pushed and shoved off of an aeroplane and 10 minutes later we were whizzing across... More

Stunning hotel. Staff amazing. Very comfortable. Breakfast was divine. Just loved it. No water in room. Close to the San Toma station. Easy to walk to all the places of interest but be prepared to get lost. Carry a poncho or umbrella at all times. Special thank you to Alex, Evan, Roberto, Valentina and Viola.

Let me start this review by saying that we had a truly lovely stay at the Barbarigo. But with literally hundreds of hotels to choose from in Venice, I think it's important to mention a few caveats for those deciding how to strike the right balance between cost, location and amenities. First, the positives: everything under the control of the... More

Dear CapitalTr, Your review, as some others Palazzo Barbarigo have received, it’s very helpful: very helpful for all the people interested on our hotel, and very helpful for us to better understand our critical points. Palazzo Barbarigo is a small hotel (2 floors, 18 rooms, 6 of these Junior Suites facing the Gran Canal) located at the corner of the... More

This is a beautifully designed hotel, just a couple of minutes away from the vaporeto station and with mostly friendly service, but it has a few very important a negative points, so I belive reading my review to be important to avoid surprises. The hotel has a grandiose main entrance through the grand canal, but it can only be used... More

Dear Salito1, First of all we would like to thank you: thank you for your stay at Palazzo Barbarigo and thank you for your critiques because are helpful for us. Venice is a city facing the water so, as for most of the buildings, also for Palazzo Barbarigo the main entrance is the one looking the canals (in our case... More
