Arrive by water taxi to realise what an amazing position this hotel enjoys on the Grand Canal. The rear entrance is tricky to find and would be hard to negotiate with a lot of luggage, but it is clean and tidy. We stayed in a junior suite (room 7) that overlooked the Grand Canal, the room was very spacious with... More

You have to arrive by water taxi to appreciate the setting and I would imagine avoid the frustration of finding the hotel on foot. Our four night stay was part of our honeymoon so we stayed in one of the junior suites with a view of the Grand Canal. The room was well furnished and quite dark due to the... More

We stayed in Room 11 in this beautiful hotel and our whole stay was nothing short of amazing!!! We are fairly well travelled and are lucky enough to always stay in lovely hotels but we literally could not have chosen better this time! This is a very very special, opulent and modern but plush hotel. The position it's in along... More

You'e brave or you've been here before if you try to find the tiny alley that leads to the back of the hotel on arrival. Like most Palazzos on the grand canal the main entrance is from the river so the $110 water taxi from the airport is the way to arrive. The hotel is stylish and contemporary which is... More

Arriving by water taxi and entering by the front door is an excellent way to start any holiday. The hotel is in close walking distance to all the main sites in Venice. Water taxi and the water bus are easily available. The staff at this hotel are most helpful and keen to help. The rooms in this hotel are quite... More

This was our first trip to Venice. I wanted to have a view of the Grand Canal so we booked a junior suite (room 8). The room was spacious with a window that opened onto the Canal (not full length but big enough to lean out comfortably and get a great view). The service was excellent throughout our stay. They... This small hotel is situated right on the Grand Canal. The best way to arrive is by water taxi which takes you right to the front door. There is a back door which takes you down a long alley out on to the street and it is about a 10 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge. The style is very... More

Arrived by private water taxi to front entrance of Hotel on Grand Canal. This is the best way to arrive and leave with cases. The back entrance is down a narrow alleyway which leads to a few shops. Had a coffee and pastries on arrival at 11.30 am and sat on balcony off the bar to enjoy the view. The... More

We stayed at Palazzo Barbarigo for 5 nights during the film festival week and was so surprised (in a positive way) how quiet the place was. We usually like small hotels with unobtrusive but professional service and calm atmosphere so Palazzo Barbarigo was a great choice for us. And what a fabulous location! The hotel is right on and facing... More

We have just returned from a fabulous weekend at the Palazzo Barbarigo. We were there for a family celebration and our group ranged from a three year old to grandparents. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay and Valentina, Ivan, Cristiano and all the staff looked after us wonderfully - booking restaurants (great recommendations) and water taxis, as well as making mojitos...
