Good location. Short walk from Rialto boat stop. Very basic stay. Walk-in level smelled like the canal. Room keys are not the easiest to use (skeleton, need to use to open and lock room door). Room wasn't quiet. We could hear everyone walking down the stairs from the floor above. The a/c unit made a hum noise. Along with the... More

We got a great and quiet room, in the center of Venice, but very near San Marco. The owner, Marco, gave us many many tips and was an excellent host. The room was great and cosy and the breakfast was served too. I can only recommend the place!

It was a short getaway for fiance and myself. Hotel was tucked away and slightly difficult to locate. Rooms were clean but small. Breakfast was simple yet delicious. Location was very central and easy walk to centre and major landmarks.

This B&B was just the job for our 3 day stay. Marco the owner was very nice and helpful. The welcome we had from him was excellent. The room we had was a standard double however it really needs a paint and carpet change. There were stains on the walls and mold above the shower but we only slept there... More

the nice young man had a warm welcome for us and introduced us to most interesting places and gave us general tips for restaurant areas and lovely places. The rooms are older, but nice, very affordable, with thick towels, some bathroom stuff like soaps and creams... The breakfast was good for the price: greek yogurt, fresh croissants, on Sunday a... Great location; Be aware of late check-in (after 5pm) fees We stayed at Ca Loredan for 2 nights last weekend. This hotel is located just 2 mins walk from Rialto ferry stop, 3 mins walk from Rialto bridge and 5 mins walk from San Marco. Can’t ask for a better location. Marco (who manages the hotel) contacted us the day... More

Quaint little place with basic necessities for a short stay. The BnB is located very close to the Rialto stop, about 4mins walk (more if you're lugging a huge luggage). It is a very short distance from San Marco square. Great choice if you're planning on a short stay in venice. Marco (owner of the BnB) was very friendly and... More

I am giving this rate only because the owner try and try so hard, but he has such a long way to go. Great location steps from Rialto Bridge, where the owner should wait for each guess since it is confusing to find the B&B. He has three rooms on the third floor walk up and renovations are in progress.... More

A pleasant, quaint B&B-type hotel in the San Marco district, Ca' Loredan is decent value-for-money in a very expensive city. The owner (and apparently sole-operator) Marco seems like a lovely guy and goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and at-home. Small touches like the warm croissants and cappuccinos at breakfast are great, as is the easy... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
