We found all the staff very friendly and helpful with their local knowledge. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is located within walking distance to Piazzale Roma and close to the public transport for the canals. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

We did well when we chose this hotel. We knew nothing about Venice when we booked but it worked well for us. We were able to walk from the water bus stop even with our baggage (few hundred feet). Passed a grocery store and 4 or 5 restaurants on the way. We walked or took the water bus every from... More

I booked this hotel direct via their web site, and also asked for a water taxi to be available because we were a party of four adults each with suitcases etc. We picked this hotel because of Trip Advisor, and because it was close to the cruise terminal. On arrival at the airport we looked for our promised contact, and... More

My husband, daughter and I spent 10 nights at this hotel. It is a really lovely place to stay. Rooms are well equipped, clean and cool. We opted for a deluxe room, which overlooked the garden. All the staff were very helpful, but I feel that the staff working in the dining room at breakfast deserve a special mention as... More

We Booked this hotel direct from their website, we arrived after a long walk with luggage climbing all the Ponte (bridges) and after checked-in we reach a room without a window only a sky-light at the top of the small room, just took our luggage and went down to the reception, the one who checked us in promised us to... The hotel was located in a quieter part of Venice away from the main tourist spots which gives you a better understanding of more local feel for Venice which is great after the hustle of St Marks square and the Rialto bridge etc. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and professional. The room was huge with beautiful frescos painted on... More

A very quiet Hotel, small, clean and in a great location to local bars, restaurants and transport. The Staff are very helpful, they will help with whatever they can, this trip was for my Partners 50th Birthday and they made it very special. The complimentary continental breakfast could not be better, something for everyone, we left early the last day... More

Stayed overnight at this quaint hotel before boarding a ship at the San Basilio pier. We had requested early check in and our room was available when we arrived. Lovely room on the third floor overlooking a canal. Staff was very helpful and courteous.

Great hotel, convenient to s.Basilio waterbus stop. Lovely garden at back, breakfast although buffet style was plentiful with great fresh fruit salad and lovely fresh coffee. Staff really nice . One of the 2 water pumps packed in while we were there which meant we didn't have hot water for 2 days. This was outside the hotel's fault but when we... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
