This B&B is a hidden gem! Fantastic central location right by The Piazza San Marco, so within walking distance of museums, shops, galleries, gondolas and water buses. Very friendly and helpful staff, luxurious Venetian style bedrooms, amazing choices for breakfast......we were even brought breakfast in bed on silver trays for our very special wedding anniversary! The Hotel entrance is in... More

I visited the property in late march / early April 2015 . It is located right on the fabulous San Marco square . When you arrive at San Marco by Vapporetto or water Taxi , you walk right up yo the square , don't turn left or right the hotel is right in front of you in a very narrow... More

By far, one of the BEST rooms ever. Spacious, luxurious. Small front desk (great, helpfull and multilingual staff), a cozy breakfast room. Only 6 rooms on the first floor of the property, no elevator. I read about BELLEVUE as a non service hotel (frontdesk closes at 7pm-your room key also open the hotel front door) but all your needs will... More

This is a little gem in the heart of Venice. A tiny side street leads to a small reception and the most helpful receptionist. The room was luxurious wood panelled, old style, opulent and spacious. All Mod Cons, TV, safe, fridge, airco and a well fitted bathroom etc etc. The bed was large and firm and bedding excellent. But is... More

One of the greatest places to stay in venice especially fi you get a room with a view of San Marco. Service however is poor, unhelpful staff when staff is around. Front desk suppose to be staffed till 10pm only but we've found it empty sooner than that and for breakfast you have to chase down the single attendant for... More

Arriving in St Marks Square for the very first time, is difficult as it was absolutely full of people. But I followed the directions, and within 10 seconds of leaving the square I was on the doorstep of my chosen hotel. It did not look much, but why pay for lavish reception when you are so close to the action.... More

We were booked into the San Marco hotel but when we got there, they told us this is where we would be. Since it was our first (and probably not last) visit to Venice, we had no idea where they were taking us (well the bellhop from the hotel took the bags and we followed). What a lovely surprise. We... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
