The Zaguri Bed & Breakfast was fabulous! We did a Rome-Florence-Venice trip in late April 2015 and this hotel was a perfect ending to our trip. Really friendly and helpful staff! Great breakfast (brie, croissants, yogurt, cappuccino, boiled eggs, cereal, juice, etc). The staff emailed me the same day I booked the room to provide directions and a colourful map.... More

We really enjoyed staying at the Zaguri. It is about two minutes from a water bus stop (Giglio) which makes walking there with luggage relatively easy. We had no trouble finding it, though there is only a small brass plaque on the door which needs watching out for. The B&B is on the first floor, which others have commented on... More

The hotel(B & B) were great from the time we booked. They helped us with direction and were good with communication whenever we contacted them, this continued once we had arrived. The hotel was behind a big wooden door, (the only down fall was it was not very well signed to tell you this was the 'Zaguri') like most of... More

We enjoyed 4 nights in a family room at Zaguri (2 adults and 2 children aged 12 and 10). Our room was large and over looked a quiet canal. It had a large double and 2 singles with fridge and large adjoining bathroom/great shower. There were 2 doors between the bedroom and the outdoor corridor making for a very quiet... More

We have spent 9 days at the B&B Zaguri. That was one of the most wonderful stay we ever had. Staff was fantastic and the room was clean and big, including a fridge. We had the room that you see in the picture. At 10 meters from there you will find a convenience store with beer, wine and many more... More

Location was perfect. Less than 5 min. walk from S.M. del Giglio stop. Less than 10 min. walk to San Marco Piazza as well as passing all the high end stores. Stayed in a double room, very large and large bathroom for two. Great water pressure and hot water. When checked in our host, do not remember his name, showed... More

The location is superb. In a walking distance from San Marco and other monuments. There is a stop of Vaporetto 1 which leads you to the train station and other main locations. The b&b is on a quite canal, the building is an old palace but the interior is fully renovated. The staff is very kind and helpful. Mr Mario welcome us with... More

Found the hotel quite easy, but not fun to get to with suitcases but it's like that anywhere in Venice. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and did the job. Breakfast was adequate. A little run down but it's Europe so you have to expect that! WIFI access wasn't reliable during the whole stay, but was... More

We have just left Zaguri B&B after a 3night stay in Venice. The hotel is in a great location handy for San Marco square and just round the corner from some nice little bakeries and shops. The hotel is also only a couple of minutes walk from what was our favourite square in Venice to eat, campo San maurizio square. We did... More

We stayed 2 nights in this B&B that is very well located in the main route between Rialto and S.Marcos. Easy to locate when coming from S.M.Giglio vaporetto stop with the map provided with the booking confirmation. The location of it revealed to be very practical if we want to go by boat or walking to Venice major spots. In... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
