There is no better place to stay in Venice. The warm welcome we got from Mario and his team was just perfect start for a perfect weekend in one of the most amazing cities. Quiet, clean, comfortable, 3 key words for the Zaguri. Spacious room, great breakfast, excellent location, great value for money, and friendly helpful staff. I don't usually bother... More

The Zaguri Bed & Breakfast was a real gem! This was our first stay in Italy. The breakfast was decent (brie, croissants, yogurt, cappuccino, boiled eggs, cereal, juice, etc). Our room was lovely, looked out on to a canal, and it was quite large! The location is fabulous and about a 5 minute walk to St. Mark's Square. The staff... More

Loved our stay at Zaguri B&B. Room was very clean and it was so central. It's within walking distance to St. Mark's Square. If you'd like to take the water taxi, the water taxi terminal is even closer to the hotel. Continental breakfast is in the small lobby area but the Capuccino was in a large cup and oh so... More

The price is reasonable. The accommodations are large, clean and comfortable. The breakfast has a lot of variety and is very good. The staff are friendly and helpful. They will provide you with a map of the area and a schedule for the Alilaguna public transport that will take you to and from the airport. The Vaporetto can get you... More

We recently stayed four nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is ideal for easy walking to all of Venice's many attractions. It's a short walk to the Piazza San Marco, yet quiet. The staff was helpful, particularly Manon, who found us a laundromat and gave us very detailed assistance with finding some other landmarks, as well as assisting... More

We loved the Zaguri. The rooms were clean and they had the most television channels in the whole trip. The breakfast was OK but don't expect an American breakfast as they do not make hot food here. The location was great as it was so close to St. Marks square.

Very well located, close to San Marco and at the same time close to a number of restaurants. Great breakfast with a good variety of food. Nice and big room, due to the hot weather the airco had difficulties to keep it cold. Special thanks to Nazannin who was very helpful in providing tips to visit in the area. One... More

When I finally arrived at the B&B I was tired (I was lost on arrival) but once I checked in, I was in heaven. My room was clean and quiet. The family that runs the location was nice (the father allowed me to use his charger because mine broke. Later Marco found a local shop that carried chargers so I... More

The Zaguri Bed & Breakfast was fabulous! We did a Rome-Florence-Venice trip in late April 2015 and this hotel was a perfect ending to our trip. Really friendly and helpful staff! Great breakfast (brie, croissants, yogurt, cappuccino, boiled eggs, cereal, juice, etc). The staff emailed me the same day I booked the room to provide directions and a colourful map.... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
