We stayed here for 2 nights and it was lovely and clean. Nice breakfast. Bit of a smell from shower drain but nothing opening the windows didn't fix. There's lots of stairs but they will help you with luggage up or down and if you need to store luggage they will let you leave downstairs in storage room. The location... More

Wonderful experience! So worth the extra money. We stayed in Venice for 3 nights in July, travelled as a family (2 adults + 2 small children). We had a room with private bathroom, 1 large bed, and 1 bunk bed. Casa Gottardi was perfect, our room beautiful, and tastefully decorated; there was a kitchen we could use, and Susanna brought... The accommodation is very cosy and neat. The rooms are very well kept. They pamper you very well. Must stay place ! Feels like your home.. The kitchen is accessible with bread, fruits, butter, cookies 24 hours. They have a fridge so you can also store your food.

I booked Casa Gottardi because it's one of the Top 20 B&Bs here in TripAdvisor, and it's just rightly so. The place is very accessible and convenient, everything is 10-15 minutes away (San Marco, Fondamente Nove). Though it's very near the Rialto Bridge, the place is very quiet. Our room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The best thing during... More

This is a very small place but they try very hard to make their guests happy and they succeeded! It is very clean and the location is convenient to the sites and restaurants. It is on a quiet street which made our stay more relaxing after walking through crowds. The girl with the brown hair is very accommodating and helpful.... More

We stayed at Ca Gottardi for 3 nights. We are in a agreement with all previous good reviews. Great area to stay, very handy for all areas and close to the Grand Canal and Vaporetti for getting about. Very helpful and informative staff. A good base.

We loved Venice despite the seething mass we confronted time to time in the lanes or across the Rialto, because if you take a left or right off a busy thoroughfare and travel a few steps you find peace and quiet. Casa Gottardi is such a place. Close to the action but an escape from it. Eugenia looked after us... More

This place is so cool! Here you get a nice Italian style breakfast with two lovely ladies and are basically living like the Venetians do. I lived in Venice for 7 years and this place is centrally located, close to Rialto bridge but far enough away from San Marco that you are not inundated with the tourists. Also the little... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
