Location, location , location..2 mins off St Mark's Square and 2 mins from the water bus station. Next to lots of restaurants and shops. Make sure you look up directions to the hotel before hand. It is down a small cul-de-sac and may be difficult to locate the first time around. Helpful shopkeepers gave us directions. Small town house that... More

Stayed here twice with my wife in the last 4 years and both times have been great. As a Brit I would describe this more as a B&B than a hotel. It's essentially a town house that has been converted to have 5/6 bedrooms for guests. There's no bar or even staff after lunchtime so if you're looking for a... More

This was a great little hotel with an amazing location near St.Mark's Square. The service was great and efficient, the breakfast was one of the best free breakfasts of our trip, and the rooms were small but beautiful and used the space very well. I would definitely stay here again.

This was a very nice hotel with the nicest lady at reception - Adina. She is very kind, informative and helpful!!! She brings breakfast to the room at whatever time you want in the morning at no extra cost. Location is amazing - a two minute walk to San Marco's square where they have amazing music at night.

The hotel could not be on a better location, right beside Piazza San Marco. Breakfast is brought to the room (very basic). The receptionist was very nice, she marked on our map a 'walking tour' that was brilliant. We could leave our luggages at the reception until late after checking out. I would stay here again.

It was the first time I was selecting a hotel based only on Tripadvisor reviews. It turns out that Locanda Antico Casin fully deserves the highest rating. Yes, there are stairs to climb before getting to the reception and to the room. No, there is no lift. No, the room I had booked was not huge. Yes, it is a... More

My review erroneously attributed to my daughter Dina Y? So will repeat and add. Not for the elderly. Very tiring two flights of steep and tight stairs, after arriving to Milano by plane then train ride to Venice then water taxi to San Marco. Tiny room. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. We arrived late at night and it was easy to find by following the instructions we were emailed. Self check-in was not an issue either. The rooms were large, clean and very nice. Roof terrace for breakfast was great and the owner was helpful and friendly.

We stayed there for 1 night only and the experience was great. We received an email with all instructions is our language including which transport we should get. The checkin is a "self chekin method". Wen you get there, all papers you need to sign and further informations are just there. The entrance is quite hidden but never a thing... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
