So far a nice hotel but expensive. Good breakfast. Good distance to St Marc and Rialto and shops. A pity for wifi because we must have wifi or cable. That is why we pick a hotel. There is a socket in the wall for wired internet but nothing is connected. Its there for show acording to reception. Very very slow... More

good hotel, in central location, not forway from St. Marco or Rialto. I think it the Best hotel for this money. .. you should try the restaurants from Rialto... Venice is a must ...to see, you should go there. ..

Central location between Rialto bridge and Piazza St Marco. Only a few minute walk to each. Hotel staff was very helpful and responsive to questions and request both before (via email) and during our stay. Four of us (2 children) were comfortable in the room with a pull out couch.

We had a lovely room at the front of the hotel, quiet, clean and plenty of room. Walking from Vaporeta stop with out a single step which is a rare find in Venice. Close to San Marco and lots of shops surround. Breakfast was great. Would have loved a softer pillow, but none to be found !

My wife and I stayed 4 nights at this hotel which is ideally situated between the Rialto bridge and San Marco, each only a short walk away. Our arrival was fine with polite staff catering with all the usual admin tasks before showing us to our room, which was smaller than we had hoped for but clean, adequate with en-suite... More

Excellent hotel from all points of view: location, staff, gluten-free breakfast, room and view on the canal! We stayed there with my mother-in-law and had a triple room overlooking the side canal. We had a good deal which included a very good price and bottle of Prosecco (mother in law was impressed!!). The room was furnished in the classic Venetian... More

My husband and I traveled to Europe with our 12 year old son. Our first stop was Venice, as we wanted to share that special place with him. The hotel was perfect for our family. The triple room was perfect for us and the single sleeper that my son slept on was just his size ( In a couple of... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
