US-Florida Residents - May 16-19, 2015 This was a super hotel, highly recommended... The room by US standards was a bit small but that is to be expected in Venice where some of these building are quite old. This property blends in with its external surroundings but is very up-to-date once you step through the door. The room was very... More

Very nice townhouse hotel, well located for a short visit to Venice. Easy to find and only a short walk to all the main parts. Room was quite small but clean and well appointed. Good bathroom. Breakfast was high quality and varied. Service was very good too. Well worth its reasonable charge.

Lovely hotel close to everything ,easy to get to and from Airport and all Tourist sites. Check out 12 noon so good for late flights.Restaurants and takeaway nearby and reasonably priced for Venice. Wi Fi at hotel and San Stefano restaurant .Children and parents liked interconnecting rooms both with own TV and bathroom.

We have been staying at Dragomanni for the last 5 Biennial visits, since 2007, and keep coming back. Nothing fancy bu all requirements are fullfilled. The receptionists are always out to help, tough dinner arrangements and all. Today they have topped it all. With the annual Venice Regatta on (mind you Sunday before last in May, all traffic on the... More

The hotel was very difficult to find, there was not even a sign with the hotel@s name. It is greatly overrated and the breakfast was poor both in terms of quality and variety. I would never recommend it, it's a waste of money.

My husband and I ended our 9 day Mediterranean cruise in Venice and stayed at this hotel. We were exhausted after getting off the boat and had heard getting around Venice could be difficult. Well we took a water taxi from the port straight to the street of this hotel. We got in around 9:30am and our room was available!... More

We arrived in Venice by plane from Rome. We chose to catch the Water Bus to Santa Maria del Giglio Station. This turned out to be a very good touristy and economical decision, as the Bus stopped at many Stations along the Grand Canal and created a great feeling to be in Venice again. The Hotel is about a 5... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and yes whilst I'd agree with some reviews that the location was excellent, the room / bathroom was clean and the breakfast was more than adequate. However we were greeted with a surly female receptionist who's attitude didn't improve throughout our stay. Isn't friendly, helpful characteristics are a pre-requisite for front of desk staff?... Stayed 4 nights here over Easter, Samoa and the rest of the staff were very helpful at all times. Hotel was quiet, clean and we had room 26 with fantastic views. Nothing was too much trouble. Great location and close by to San Marco, Accademia and The Rialto. Fully recommend this hotel.

My pregnant wife and I stayed here for two nights in March. Nice hotel, very clean, centrally located, friendly staff and an overall good stay. No canal views and rooms were small but to be expected in central Venice. Very close to the Gigio river bus stop which goes directly to the train station or airport (dependant on which one)... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
