The staff is very good and also breakfast. However, our room did not have glass or curtains on bath and all the bathroon became wet after shower. The bed was not good as the king size was done with 2 beds together, and covered had a bad smell. It seems that they never changed it..

Stayed here for 3 nights on the 1st floor. The positive was the staff, location and the breakfast which was included in our stay. The negatives was the bed which had stained sheets and cover. Also the bathroom was missing a curtain or anything that would stop the water from splashing out every time one of us showered.. Very annoying.

Stayed in the penthouse room which was not expensive, the room was comfy with plenty of room to move. The spa was a great treat. The air con worked ok enough to cool down both rooms to keep you cool from the outside heat.. Now for the best part!!!! Your own roof top private balcony wow wow wow there was... More

Although hard to navigate around Venice the location of this hotel is very good. Surrounded by little shops and bars, restaurants and the main attractions it's a great little hotel. Breakfast is good, plenty of choice and set us up for the day. Staff were very helpful and let us leave out bags in the left luggage free of charge... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ca' Fortuny. The location is excellent for finding your way to all the major sights. The hotel room was lovely, comfortable bed, cool bedroom (fan), clean room and facilities. The service was polite and helpful. Breakfast was nice with a good selection of fruit, pastries, toast and cereal. I would definitely stay here again.... More

Stayed for 2nights, easy to find with a map(but doorway easy to pass). 10 minute walk to main square. Close to lots of bars and restaurants. Best water taxi stop is rialto if tickets are needed to be bought. Would stay here again.

It has a very good location and close to all important attractions. The hotel is quite nice and small. When we arrived the the room was not very clean, especially the sheets didn't seem so clean (was not bad though). However they were changed with clean ones after the first room cleaning service. The staff were helpful and kind. All... More

This is a very conveniently situated hotel within the heart of this beautiful city. It took a little while to find from San Marco with all our luggage in tow. It is much closer to Saint Angelo if you are coming via water bus from the airport or vaperetto. On our arrival we were greeted by very friendly and helpful... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
