Recently stayed on a 2 night break. Hotel was clean and tidy, excellent location for sight seeing. Water taxi from the airport to St Angelo and a few minutes walk to the hotel. Breakfast was very nice and set you up for the day. We were on the groundfloor facing onto the street bujt it was very quiet. Staff very... More

We stayed at the hotel ca'fortuny while on our anniversary vacation. The accommodations were what was expected of a midrange European hotel. There was a little plaster missing on some walls. It who cares. They cleaned the room daily. Each morning we had a large breakfast buffet with many pastries, cereals, meats, yogurts, eggs, and cheeses. The hotel is just... More

Excellent hotel not far from the Rialto bridge. The hotel was small but very adequate and accommodating, typical Italian furniture, very clean, staff were lovely and very helpful . Breakfast was excellent plenty to choose from. Definitely recommend it.

Stayed for 3 days. Good location being half way between Rialto Bridge and San Marco. Room and bathroom good size with large heavy furniture in keeping with hotel style which was basic facilities. Seemed expensive for a hotel of this standard. Directions emailed to us in advance were really helpful as were the staff at the hotel. Breakfast buffet was... More

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was comfy and the shower was great. The fresh fruit at breakfast was delicious. I was glad I had seen an earlier review advising it was hard to find, as we walked right past it!

My sister had stayed at Ca' Fortuny and recommended it as a basic but convenient hotel. The staff were very helpful, and even warned us of a transport workers' strike so that we could amend our plans accordingly. The breakfast buffet includes the traditional continental meat and cheese, boiled eggs and a large selection of pastries, as well as cereals,... More

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days, very well located, and it was easy to find the hotel, very near to the vaporetto station. The room is very cozy and comfortable, but the bathroom was fantastic, with an awsome bathtube with jacuzzy, perfect to rest after an entire day walking inVenice. The breakfast was good too. The only exception... More

This is the exact place you need on a trip to Venice. A comfortable bed, no frills, AND genuine hospitality. The customer service was wonderful, as the staff helped us book walking tours and a concert in St. Mark's. The breakfast has everything, and is delicious and filling. The location is great, the neighborhood is quiet and welcoming, with lots... More

This hotel is centrally located, ideal to explore this beautiful city. The receptionist was very helpful, spoke good english and even supplied free wellington boots when we had a high tide (February). Breakfast was plentiful, free wi-fi and our room was clean and good value for money. The only reason why I haven't given this hotel 5 stars is the... More

I really like this hotel. When I booked I was sent a very detailed description of how to get there from the Sant'Angelo stop on the Grand Canal. I found the staff to be very friendly and very helpful. They also offer free Wi-fi. The rooms are clean, comfortable and of a good size (for Venice) and very clean. The... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
