Delicious home cooked breakfast with delightful host and hostess. We loved the location at the intersection of 3 canals, away from the crowds, but close enough to walk almost everywhere. Top choice for us when we return.

We selected this B&B as it was highly rated on trip advisor and we are delighted we did. Clean, comfortable, well positioned and run by Sandra and Leonardo who could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was superb and the area has a number of bars and restaurants offering a wide variety of options for evening refreshment.

My husband stayed here 3 years ago while traveling with our son. He was so enamored with Sandra's B & B that he talked about the two of us going for a romantic holiday for the past 3 years. We finally stayed at Sandra's this past May and I was not disappointed. The location is perfect - convenient to the... More

We had a great stay at B&B Sandra. Perfect location in the Cannaregio district. So many things to recommend this place. Firstly, it is peaceful and quiet but only a short distance away from the Grand Canal. There are lovely places to eat and drink on F. Mistericorida - and it has a very local feeling rather than tourist feeling.... More

This is a delightful choice for a stay in Venice. Cannaregio is off the main tourist areas and the house is on a quiet corner, yet very close to Vaporetto stops and plenty of good cafes and restaurants. Sandra and Leonardo are excellent hosts and make you feel very welcome. The apartment is lovely, the bedrooms are comfortable and well... More

Sandra's welcome is as warm as when we first stayed ten years ago. We have since recommended to friends who also appreciated the distinctiveness and quality. The house is close to the Grand Canal and the Ca d'Oro Vaporetto stop, and to the Strada Nuova tourist thoroughfare linking station and car parks to the St Mark's honeypot areas. Yet it... More

It like going home being with Sandra and Leonardo they are excellent hosts so friendly and have a wonderful home located in a quite but well located district. Sandra's breakfasts are the best in venice with tasty pastries in your room in the afternoon. I would not think of staying any wear else in venice

Sandra and Leonardo were excellent hosts - friendly and helpful and their B&B is beautiful. Breakfast was amazing with plenty to eat. Double ensuite rooms spacious, light and comfortable. Would recommend this to anyone. Great location.

We have just returned from our fourth visit to this lovely establishment - really that says enough! It is well located in an area with good restaurants, but benefits from being a peaceful locality. Sandra and Leonardo are helpful hosts and Sandra provides a charming home.

My husband and I had the opportunity to stay some extra time in Venice after our 17 day transatlantic cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Venice. We had stayed at Sandra's B&B back in 2003 when we were doing an independent land trip of Italy. It is a delightful place and Sandra and her husband are most hospitable. The B&B is... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
