I want to keep this place a secret!! It's perfect in every way. Sandra and Leonardo are perfect hosts. Within easy walking distance of the railway station but away from the busy tourist areas. Welcome and hospitality is wonderful and the breakfasts are the best!

We stayed here for Marisa's 50th birthday weekend away. The setting, welcome, ambiance and breakfast were absolutely magnificent. A true gem. Ask for the attic room with the rooftop terrace. Sandra and Leonardo will make you feel very much at home. 10/10

Sandra and Leonardo are the most wonderful hosts. Our apartment was wonderful in every way. Classic Venice, quiet location and close to transport. Our breakfast every morning was outstanding. The information provided by our hosts was invaluable in making our stay a delight. Highly recommended in every respect.

My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights in early November, it was the first time we have been to Venice and was not a disappointment! The b&b is beautiful and has wonderful views of the canal's, also the hosts were very welcoming. The breakfast was lovely and Sandra's home made cakes are to die for! A gem in... More

This is the second time we have stayed at the wonderful B&B Sandra and we loved it even more this time if that is possible! Both Sandra and Leonardo are wonderful hosts and their attention to detail is evident from the decor in the whole house, to their amazing breakfasts. My daughter and her husband were very lucky to have... More

Sandra and Leonardo were very hospitable. My wife is wheat intolerant and Sandra made wheat-free cakes every day that tasted delicious! Our large bed was firm and comfortable and we both slept well. Breakfast was eaten around a large table with views of Venice. We have to go back...!

We chose this place through articles and reviews which were spot on - its very friendly, nice and quiet, but central enough just to walk everywhere. A really interesting building. Easy to get to from the Airport boat service to the North side of Venice. And the breakfasts were really good - fantastic cake. Thanks!

Sandra was very welcoming and made our stay great. The night we got there they prepared a map for us for the places to see and marked the bus stops. They even made several calls to reserve us a taxi for the next morning and arranged an earlier breakfast with no hassle. We had a good sized room room with... More

We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of Sandra and Leonardo. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived and throughout our stay they were always ready to help. The room was very spacious and the bed comfortable. Breakfasts were always carefully prepared with new luxuries and every day when we returned after exhausting excursions we found delicious... More

This was our third visit to Sandra and Leonardo's wonderful home - and as people who have stayed here before will know - it never disappoints. Their generous hospitality; wonderful breakfasts and lovely rooms (spotlessly clean) make it the perfect place to stay if you want to be away from the tourist trail, but close to everything. Their suggestions of... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
