We loved the interior design of having a combination of modern architecture with hints of the original structure. The rooms were good, beds OK but the bedspread were a little rough. Overall good hotel for the price and the location.

Great location, easy to find, clean hotel, but too expensive hotel. The internet didnt work at the rooms, and the rooms were small. The rooms were also small. The breakfast was not that great. Not more than 3 star.

Great location only minutes away from St Marks Square and the many attractions. The Hotel in general was fine if you only used it as a base. The room we had was small and felt claustrophobic. The breakfast was very disappointing. On the plus side the room was clean and had a shower and the location was great. The staff were... More

Not a good experience with this hotel. If you want internet you need to either sit in their tiny (only 2 chairs) lobby, stand in an area close to the hotel in the piazza, or sitting outside at the restaurant in the piazza next to the hotel (but you have to buy something)! Not convenient at all. Our "room" was... More

Situated approximately 5 mins from San Marco square and Grand Canal. Hotel was very clean with fresh towels daily and staff very helpful. Breakfast was laid out every morning and was very good value for the money we paid. I would definitely return and would recommend it to travellers on a budget.

The location is amazing and the service was great. The young lady that greeted us was friendly and helpful. The room was so clean I instantly felt comfortable. The bathroom was ok. Their "towels" are like bedsheets which is probably the only negative and the shower was tiny with one of the doors not closing properly. But overall this is... More

Although a great location, close to many stores and Saint Marco square, that's really all it has going for it. The service and the workers are rude and miserable. Not very much help at all. Also, would not recommend the apartments for your stay. Very tight, not well maintained, and far from the hotel.

The Hotel Tiepolo was perfect value for the price ewe paid. Well located in a quiet street very close to San Marco piazza. The breakfast could improve, but capuccino was excellent. The room was clean, bathroom ok. i would stay again.

Located a short distance from San Marco Square, you cannot beat the location of the hotel. Despite a late arrival, someone was in attendance 24 hours a day and was able to show us to our room. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed, however it was obvious it was two single beds pushed together. The bathroom was clean... More

My husband and I found this great hotel on trip advisor. It was a challenge to find initially but it is Venice lol. We absolutely loved our room, it had a lot of charm and it added to the authenticity of our trip. Breakfast was always fresh and coffee was superb. The location was absolutely worth it, we were able... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
