Located a short distance from San Marco Square, you cannot beat the location of the hotel. Despite a late arrival, someone was in attendance 24 hours a day and was able to show us to our room. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed, however it was obvious it was two single beds pushed together. The bathroom was clean... More

My husband and I found this great hotel on trip advisor. It was a challenge to find initially but it is Venice lol. We absolutely loved our room, it had a lot of charm and it added to the authenticity of our trip. Breakfast was always fresh and coffee was superb. The location was absolutely worth it, we were able... More

After reading reviews that this hotel was difficult to find, I thought we knew exactly where it was and would not get lost. That was not the case. We spent at least an hour walking around the alleys of Venice searching for this hotel. We finally found it. The room was clean, breakfast and coffee were included with the stay.... More

Although clean & conveniently located near San Marcos square, this hotel at $300 per night was over-priced for its small, cramped room. For anyone with physical mobility issues, it should be mentioned that all rooms are up a minimum of one significant set of stairs. The continental breakfast here was satisfactory in both quantity and quality.

Not easy to find at first and my double room was in a backalley, on the 3rd floor as kindly directed by the woman in charge. No thrills room, two double beds, no tv, large and clean bathroom. WiFi works and is stabile. Had to keep windows closed because of small misquitos and constant compressor-noise from the downstairs restaurant. But... More

Was on a whirlwind tour of Italy so only stayed a few nights at this hotel while in Venice. Entrance is a little hard to find as it's down a small hidden alley (a smaller than NORMAL Venice alley, that is) on the side of the building. But, I'm not going to lie- after we figured out how to get... More

We picked this hotel based on previous reviews. We were on a budget and only had two criteria for a Venice hotel. it had to have a private bathroom (which not all rooms do have and we paid extra for) and had to be clean. Not only did this hotel meet those two requirements, it also provides a very good... More

Real gem close to all attractions, 2 minutes from St Marco Square. . Very good price, excellent staff, very modern inside and maintained and cleaned to a very high standard. May not look to good on the approach to it which is up a very narrow alley way, but you will be very pleasantly surprised when you enter the building.... More

Great location, very beautiful boutique hotel, there were no disappointments, morning breakfast was really good. very clean rooms & washroom. Walking distance to everything. Highly recommend. Location was a little hard to find, as it was a very narrow street. Buy if u ask any restaurant, its easy directions.

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
