Amazing service, Barbara's went out of her way, and her care and attention to ensure we had the best trip possible was excellent. The breakfast were good, and the service first class The superior rooms we stayed in had just been redecorated, and were spacious - which is rare for Venice accommodation. The standard of facilities was high, and the... More

My family stayed at La Villeggiatura during the beginning of January 2016. Had a memorable 4 days at a wonderful B and B. Barbara was informative about what to see in Venice and where to eat. Wonderful location and easy to get around. Can't wait to return and visit again...

Very nice location, small B&B which makes you feel like home. Very friendly and ready to help Barbara at the reception, special thanx to her. A good breakfast not a very common in Italy. The only minus is noise in the room. You hear the water pump from time to time.

My wife and I spent 4 nights at the La Villeggiatura is we were totally impressed. The management/owner was so pleasant to deal with and she was spot on with recommendations throughout our stay. The rooms were totally spacious, wifi and breakfast was great. The neighborhood could not have been better. Centrally located but out of the mad-crowds. It is... More

Two minutes walk to the fish & produce market and 5 minutes walk to Realto bridge, but very quiet at night. Many great restsurants nearby. Stayed in Vivaldi room and loved the sky window! The receptionist lady is local and she can provide you lots of information. The only complaint I had was the shower. It was too small and... More

We stayed here for our 10th wedding anniversary and it was beautiful! We checked in to find a nice bottle of wine in our room as well. The front desk staff was helpful in giving us restaurant recommendations also. The room itself was breathtaking, from the beams on the ceiling to the tapestry drapes - it was amazing. We hope... A great location, only a couple of bridges to cross, and close to the fish market and other major attractions. The rooms were very special and our hostess exceptional. It was relaxing to come back to the B&B and drink a little vino. She recommended two wonderful restaurants.

Stay in the hotel for couple of days, to pretend to be a Venetian. 3min walk to Riato Market, but the hotel is very quiet. Lastly, you can get all the help you need with the warmhearted guys in the hotel.

Two years ago we stayed at a really lovely B and B in Rome. It was so comfortable, beautiful and the staff was so amazing. They took out a map and asked us to sit down so they were sure they had passed on to us what they felt would make a perfect stay in Rome. While there I read... More

We were made very welcome at La Villeggiatura with excellent advice on the best places to visit, eat and enjoy the best of Venice. The room was very comfortable and quiet and we enjoyed a pleasant breakfast each morning. We were free to come and go without restrictions and it was like having your own apartment right in the centre... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
