I had stayed at La Villeggiature back in July 2012 and loved it, so when my husband and I made a stop over in Venice this past week, I knew we had to stay there - he had never been to Venice and I couldn't think of a more perfect way to introduce him to my favorite city than by... More

We selected this B&B based on the Eye Witness guide. It was a good choice. Located a short walk from the Rialto bridge, it is convenient yet in a quiet neighborhood. The room was spacious and beautifully remodeled. Barbara, our host, was very helpful with a map of places to visit and eat. The only challenge was the walk up... More

My husband and I had the luxury of a full week at La Villegiatura. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bed was firm, pillows were a little thin but still fine. As mentioned in other posts, Barbara is very helpful with sightseeing suggestions and reservations. Her restaurant recommendations were all spot-on. Breakfast service from Sunil was outstanding. My only... More

We stayed here with a group of friends last May. The neighborhood was great. Easy to get to from the airport by vaporetto, not very crowded with tourists and Barbara, the manager was extremely helpful. Plus the rooms were very clean and decorated beautifully. The main area was a cozy place to congregate when we wanted to get together to... More

**Highly recommend**I booked this for my relatives that stayed from the 17-19, September, and I did not regret it. I called in person to book and spoke with Barbara who was very helpful. I was worried about my relatives traveling alone to Venice from Riccione, Italy and Barbara was nice enough to let me know when they had arrived at... More

The hotel itself was beautiful but it was a trial to lug our suitcase up the stairs (no elevator), but we didn't mind as the standard of the hotel was very high, it was well maintained, and was a beautiful apartment-turned-hotel. The people who work there were very professional - our induction took 30 mins and we were provided with... More

I was there with my family just for one night and it was simply perfect. Forget about a hotel as you are used to. This is your home, warm and elegant, clean and organized. It is placed in Rialto Mercato, an amazing zone of Venice, absolutely full of life and colors. Rooms are clean and tidy. Breakfast is a touch... More

This hotel, located in the Rialto section was easy to find. Near the Rialto Mercato Vaporetto stop and a quick walk to the Rialto Bridge. The hostess was extremely helpful, carrying a bag upstairs and explaining all the options of our stay in Venice. We had a large junior suite, with a good sized bathroom. Had no trouble sleeping. Breakfast... More

We were warned by the hotel to not be turned off by the entrance to the building, which was helpful, indeed. But, once you start climbing the stairs to the hotel entrance it just gets better and better. Loved this little hotel. Cozy, clean room with lots of style. We opted for the smallest and least expensive and it was... More

We had a fantastic 2 night stay at La Villeggiatura with Barbara and her team. Located a short walk from the Rialto Market and within walking distance of all the sights and main areas of Venice... we only used the Vaperetto once to get to the train station to leave! To get to La Villeggiatura we followed Barbara's detailed directions... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
