If you don't mind a door the won't lock or pillows that are as thin as fag papers or a shower with a very suspect shower curtain or a tv remote covered in something sticky then you will probably enjoy your stay. Breakfast is a joke, everything was a bit stale. Me and the wife stayed for one night in... More

So yes this is a great location but I wouldn't say worth it as you walk all around Venice anyway. No elevator and we had massive suitcases to pull up the stairs. The building seemed quite old with all the paint falling off the wall. Probably could of looked past this except the staff were not very friendly except for... More

We got a room for 20 euro per/night and as we were looking for a place to crash close to San Marco we didnt care too much that the place is very basic and a bit run down. The room was bigger than we expected, great location and it was pretty clean so we were happy. It's just run down... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel during a backpacking trip around Europe. The hotel was perfect for what we needed, it was cheap and well placed with easy access around Venice. If visiting Venice I would suggest getting a map... it is a very difficult city to navigate!

Don't stay here. The place was awful - not as advertised. Holes in the wall, not even bothered to be plastered. Steep, narrow, difficult stairs - no elevator. We chose to go look for another hotel at midnight when we arrived vs spend one night in this place. The Best Western not far away was MUCH nicer. After complaining about... More

When I read the reviews of this hotel, I was terrified, but I had already booked and it was nonrefundable. After spending 2 nights at the hotel, though, I can say that either I have low standards or people who write TripAdvisor reviews are extremely overdramatic about their horrible experiences. Hotel Astoria really isn't that bad. In fact, I'm glad... More

Room - the room was dirty...dead bugs on the floor. The door broken was and did not close properly. The pillows on the bed were so rock hard that one could not sleep on them. No duvet on the bed only a sheet and a dirty bed cover Bathroom - dirty. Almost no water came out of the shower or... More

I was thrilled with the location upon arrival. However many things were not working properly. Lock on room not working correctly, window not working properly, chair broken in room, bed bugs. Linens and towels are not changed daily. Great location, friendly staff.
