The hotel's best asset is its location. Right near to the train station in Venice is worth a lot. You can simply toss off your baggage and be free for all other attractions without worrying on how to move with your baggage to other locations. Other than that the hotel provides the basic needs of any hotel and can be... More

This place is perfect for people who care about basic needs and are just looking for a tidy room. The location couldn't be better: you really dont want to Carry a bag through the medieval streets of Venice, and this hotel is basically 2m next to the station, so perfect! The staff wasnt extremely friendly but they surely werent rude... More

Before going to this hotel we carefully read the reviews of other travelers and took into consideration all the recommendations but in reality the hotel was better than we expected. The location is perfect, just next to the Santa Lucia train station, very easy to find. We arrived late and the door was closed but we knew from other reviewers... More

The hotel is in a great location, just a few blocks from santa lucia train station, although it is overpriced. The room was big enough, very clean, tidy and quiet. The worst about the hotel is that I had to carry the luggage up to the 3rd floor through a narrow stairs. So, be carefull if you are not in... More

We had a relatively mediocre stay at this small property. The location was good as it was near Santa Lucia train station (200m) so we could just deposit our luggages in our rooms quickly before making our way around Venice. Rooms - we had a triple and double room. Both rooms were really tired looking but the housekeeper did a... More

We return here each time we are in Venice for a cruise. It is very close to the station and a short walk from the main area where taxis drop you. There are porters to help carry bags over the bridge and they will go all the way to the hotel too. Excellent size rooms and very quiet. Air con... More

- No reception in the evening, which was not so nice. When there was a person, there was no willingness to help. There were no tv channels in English. + Great location, good coffee machine at breakfast.

This is emphatically not a hotel. Although we were advised reception was attended until 4pm we arrived at 3pm to find keys left on empty desk for third floor low-ceilinged attic - and no lift. Apparently reception now closes at 2pm (perhaps they want to avoid complaints). Breakfast fairly token and bathroom minimal. A disappointment. However, the location is ideal... More

This little hotel has everything you need for a comfy and quiet stay in Venice, 50 mts away from the train station and 100 mts away from the vaporetto station "Ferrovia". The only kinda weird thing is that the main desk closes at 2 o'clock, however they give you the keys to freely enter and leave. It has free wi... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
