We booked a last minute trip to Venice during Carnival and were very lucky to find this little gem of a hotel. It is situated just a few minutes walking from St. Marc's square as well as from the Rialto Bridge in a very active and central Venice neighborhood. The hotel was constructed inside an old Venetian Palace so you... More

3 nights in January and it provided us with warmth, comfort (great beds) high standard of cleanliness and the staff were very helpful. Despite being in Santa Marco the noise levels were low but the location was very convenient for the days of sight-seeing

This was our first trip to Venice and we chose to stay at Relais Venezia due to the feedback on tripadvisor and it definately lived up to its reviews and did not disappoint. This hotel is in the perfect location close to everything and the price is definately reasonable for what you are getting. A perfect boutique hotel and the... More

An absolutley beautiful hotel in theme with Venice. The staff is unbeleivably friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. It was my husbands birthday and they gave us a bottle or champagne, a great surprise! The decor is just beautiful and the beds very comfortable. We had a regular room with queen bed and were amazed at the value we received.... More

We travelled as a couple staying 15th - 18th October in a superior double with a view (top floor). We found the staff attentive and excellent, absolutley nothing was too much trouble. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room but a simple call to reception solved this (no charge!). It is difficult to fault the hotel.... More

This is a great little hotel, we (2 adults) spent a night here, very close to the main action on St. Marc square, central and close to many of the city's great restaurants. We asked for a little help and got a lot, detailed and informative advice. Room was small though, however the bath was modern and fantastic. Breakfast was... More

We had a lovely stay in this charming hotel. Very friendly, welcoming staff. The hotel is situated in a fantastic location, within a 5 minute walk of St Marks Square. We enjoyed staying here that much we have just recommended it to close family. Excellent! Thank you very much!

Had a wondeful time in Venice and this hotel was part of the reason. Nice cozy place to stay. It has an elevator that I trully appreciated since in Venice the many stairs can be a killer. My recomendation is that you hire a porter at arrival to Venice. It costs 30 euros but it is worth it since this... More

Fantastic location, 5 mins San Marco, 10 mins Rialto Bridge, 12-15 mins Fondamente Nouve (spelling?). 73 steps to our room, not the place for anyone with walking difficulties......having said that not sure Venice is for anyone with walking difficulties! Room was big and elegant a/c worked just, bathroom on the small side but nicely decorated and clean. Breakfast was Continental... More

The Relais Venezia was nice, we had been to quite a few Hotels prior to this (Honeymoon Trip) and only a couple of things this Hotel lacked (In our eyes) & compared to the other Hotels, was I feel if they offered a cooked breakfast it would be a major improvement, we had our Breakfast delivered as it seems a... Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
