Located in the Cannaregio area of Venice, this lovely B&B is within easy walking distance of the Railway Station and the Ghetto Nuovo. What we found most impressive was arriving at a typical 18th century Venetian building nestled in between shops, restaurants and bars. Our room was all the way up in the attic, very tastefully decorated and absolutely spotless.... More

Le Mansarde must have been sent down from heaven!! It was a perfect spot for us, walking distance from the train station where we came in to Venice from Rome and right next the Canal where we had to leave to the airport by boat. It is in a quaint local section of the city which we LOVED!! and 10... More

This nice B&B is located in the Cannaregio section of Venice. It is located a short walk from the Santa Lucia train station and is just over the Ponte delle Guglie bridge. A great little market is located on the street below the B&B every morning. The rooms are located on the top floor of a three-story building with no... More

This is a lovely b&b well run by very friendly family. All clean and well maintained (our shower cubicle was leaking, but Anna maria sorted us with another bathroom..no problem at all). Lovely location (EXCELLENT coffee house virtually next door)... walkable to everywhere, though Vaporetto stops are also close at hand. It's out of the St Mark's Square tourist centre,... More

All rooms have modern private baths. Felt secure in not locking luggage when away. Owners highly respectable and so warm and inviting to guests. Located on direct route to St. Mark's although a hefty walk, we did it often. We were with 2 other couples and had a wing of the home with sitting room. There is a locked door... More

My fiancé and I recently stayed at this amazing B&B this past March. Wow, there is so much to say, where do I start?!? Anna-Maria is the owner and has three rooms for rent in this building and lives with her family in the other two. The location is ideal, 15 minute walk from the train station, a 3 minute... More

Anna Maria, the owner is such a delight!! Her bed and breakfast is centrally located within walking distance to the Rialto bridge, walking distance to both train and bus stations, vaporetto station near by and a seven days a week market on the same street surrounding by many shops and restaurants. The room was very clean, quiet, sun filled and... More

I stayed at Le Mansarde with my friend, and it was perfect accommodation for us, or a group of friends (max. 4 persons) or small family. The accommodation comprises of 2 small single beds on a mezzanine in the room, and a pull out double sofa bed, a kitchenette, and shower room. There is a small TV with local channels.... More

The Canareggio area is probably among the most suitable for Venice travellers. Le Mansarde B&B is located at a walking distance from both the main spots to visit in Venice and the strategic locations to arrive and get away. The strain station and Piazzale Roma (where you catch the bus to Marco Polo Airport) are just a few minutes away.... More

Le Mansarde was a great place to stay! I was completely satisfied with my time there. I spent 5 days in Venice and with the B&B's convenient location was able to easily make it to all of the places I wanted to visit with no hastle. It's location in Cannaregio is perfect as the area has less tourists and less... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
