This residence is ideally situated in a quiet spur only a few hundred metres from St Mark's Square. The property is old and the public areas are not as opulent as some of the grander hotels but it is very comfortable and, by contrast, the actual apartments are spacious and well appointed. There are five floors which are accessed by... More

We stayed for 5 days at the Corte Grimani and loved every minute staying here. The service is 5 star. Reception is very helpful and will accommodate extra wishes. We even got a free upgrade as there was a superior room available. The room was huge and spacious for Venice! The location is excellent. Just next to a little canal... More

Spent 3 nights here in the Fall. Location is very central; its near Saint Marco square, and easily accessible by the water buses. From the hotel, we walked everywhere to the different neighborhoods. Donatella & Guido were excellent hosts. The rooms are spacious, clean and the hotel staff was very customer oriented. Due to the Lufthansa strike, we had to... More

We love the Residence Corte Grimani! We stayed here in 2008 and it did not disappoint in 2015. It is close to the square approximately 8 minute walk and yet it is very quiet. Guido, Donatella and Anna were all extremely helpful and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and very clean. I hope we can visit again someday.

Stayed 2 nights in Corte Grimani which has spacious, comfortable rooms with good climate control. Location is perfect, can access all points of interest by walking <10 minutes. Friendly staff who patiently gave advice on how best to enjoy Venice. Helped book events and water taxi for us during busy holiday season. Would not hesitate to go back on our... More

We just spent 4 nights in Venice staying as a family of 4 together with my Father in Law - 3 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 10. Booked an apartment (room 101) with canal view which looked out onto a small bridge close to Calle Goldoni and the Ristorante Terraza / Amani store. The apartment was spacious and... More

We had a lovely time at Corte Grimani. The lady on the desk was always very helpful and kind and was a huge help all through our stay. The rooms we got were really nice and comfortable and the location couldn't have possibly been better. Felt at home through the stay :) Suggest the place without any hesitation!

From the first moment we arrived, our hostess (Daniella?) made us feel welcome and at home. We loved having the top floor and enjoyed the two rooms with kitchenettes. Stunning views of the canals, and very very quiet at night. Would recommend this hotel to couples, families, any age. Lovely time in a magical city.

Once we found it (Venice "streets" can be confusing) the "Residence" served as our homebase for exploring Venice. You are literally less than 5 minutes walk from St. Mark's Basilica. Maybe a 5-6 minute walk to the Rialto bridge. Right in the heart of the San Marco district. Very convenient. They call this an apartment--I guess because of the kitchenette--and... More

We stayed at Residence Corte Grimani about 5 years ago and loved it so there was no hesitation in booking it for our recent 3 pre-cruise night stay. We were upgraded to a superior room which was right on the canal - from our window we could watch the gondolas go by. The condo was huge with 2 full bathrooms... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
