We had a great stay here. Staff is great, especially Rocco is very friendly and professional. We stayed in the suite room where me, my wife and two teenagers were able to stay comfortably. Great family hotel, definitely recommend this to everyone who visits Venice.

Beautiful room with huge double bed and two singles for children, 'dressing room' and clean modern shower room, stayed 4 nights, friendly staff, very clean, excellent breakfast - ate outside in sunshine in the lovely garden every morning, excellent location - nice, quiet area but well within 10 mins walk of St Mark's Square. Only downside was some noise -... More

We just got back from a short 5 night stay here. The hotel is in a great location, just 10 minutes walk from St Mark's square. My husband and I loved this beautiful hotel- the room was basic but had everything we needed and the staff were helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The Castello area was fantastic for all... We booked our room the same day for our 2 night stay in Venice. We were on a whirlwind anniversary tour and had a lot of stops on our trip. We were lucky enough to get the junior suite. We were greeted with prosecco in our room and a lovely view of St. Marks from the terrace. The location is... More

The breakfast could use a little more diversity, but still not too bad to begin the day with. The majority of the staff were friendly and helpful, but some were slightly rigid and a little too "all business and no emotion" for my personal tastes. Still, this is BEAUTIFUL hotel, in an excellent location. But, then again, I can't really... More

Beautiful setting (old palace) in great neighborhood, very charming, with the great garden. We traveled as a group, some of us had standard rooms, while junior suit was truly amazing experience - with painted ceiling and huge terrace. The staff nice and polite, good breakfast. All in all, highly recommended.

This is my first review on TripAdvisor despite reading many before. We arrived on a cold and wet day. The hotel staff were very accommodating to ensure that our day was not spoiled. Many thanks for arranging even an earlier breakfast just for us. The rooms were huge, clean and everything worked (not at all like the rest of our... More

My wife and I chose this hotel based on its TripAdvisor reviews, and our stay exceeded our expectations. A great location near enough the vaporetto and Piazza San Marco, but set in the maze of little streets and channels that make the Venice experience. A building that is more an italian "villa" than a typical hotel. A friendly staff that... More

We loved the hotel. the staff was extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. We spend 7 nights in the hotel and we didn't want to leave. The room was clean, the B-fast was yummy and they did everything in their power to make sure we will be satisfied. They even order Soy milk especially for me. We are defiantly... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
