This guest house is very well located within easy walking distance of all the major Venice landmarks and attractions. Lovely spacious rooms, which were cleaned to a very high standard. Our room has a fabulous view over a piazza, although with the windows open a night it could be a little noisy with the sound of passers-by. The owner is... More

Stayed in this hotel a few months back for two nights. Location was ideal, and was within walking distance of everything to see in Venice. The owner was very accommodating and polite, eager to help me with any questions and even drew directions on a map to help me get to the train station. I will stay here again.

Nice rooms in an old building overlooking a piazza, nice people who seem to enjoy what they are doing. A nice difference compared to hotel chains. Very near to the next vaporetto stop at canale grande.

We stayed for 4 nights back in Nov 2012 (trip advisor wouldn't let me say it was that long ago!) and our stay was fantastic. The owner was lovely, multilingual, and very helpful. Breakfast was a good selection of cold things (cereals, bread, fruit) and the room spacious, the bed comfortable, and the view over the square fantastic. Since then... More

Ideal deal location to explore Venice, short walk to either Accademia or Santa Angelo water bus stop. The hotel staff were lovely and really helpful sorted out which train to catch to get to Treviso airport as on our last day the water bus ACTV company went on strike. If you stay here you must visit the church across from... More

Good size room, very nice and clean. Lovely view of the square, quiet and peaceful, friendly staff, however not always available. The breakfast is ok. The hotel is located fairly close to main attractions. I will recommend this to family and friends.

Arrived late and using the directions from the website,we got off frm the santa angelo water bus stop. Much like all of venice, its a treasure hunt to get to the place. Along the way we were helped by people, and using the numbers on the doorways as a guide. The door to ca morosini is in between a cafe... More

We stayed here 2 nights in early Nov 2013. Our room was on the 3rd floor on the corner of the building and overlooked the piazza, which provided a nice view and a feeling of openness. Although you are right on the piazza, the windows close tightly and the room is quiet for sleeping regardless of what is going on... More

Very nice, small, intimate hotel with cozy atmosphere and very friendly and helpful personnell. Got exactly what I expected during the seven nights I spent there. The room was small but tidy. The breakfast was a bit modest, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. I would certainly book myself into this hotel again if (and hopefully when) I'll return... More

Great location! Pretty much walking distance to everything. Right in a square and we had the best pizza of our lives here and lots of Gelato! The b&b is quaint and comfortable. Raffaela gave us perfect instructions to get here. Definitely let her know if you will be arriving after 2PM as she will have to get you the code... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
