ca'Turelli b/b not the flashes place in Venice. But the welcome and help is exceptional. The room we had was small but had everything big hotel had a/c and flat tv. im not sure whether it was cable or just local content. the bathroom was well appointed with even a bidet. the only thing to criticize, was the bed that was... Nice room, great location, owner, Mateo Caturelli, helpful. You can email him directly. Good A/C, very important in Venetian summer and well appointed bath. Wifi in common room only. We like B&B's like this and small hotels. We took the Alilaguna "Orange" from the Airport and to the Ca Rezonico stop. We would have had an easier time if I... More

This place is out of the way but adequate. Very hard to find but most things are in Venice. The problems are: 1 the woman downstairs does not speak English which is fine, but she makes no effort to try to communicate at all. She doesn't speak Spanish or anything else either. She is infuriating. 2 the wifi is bad... More

I stayed here with a friend for a few nights when visiting Venice. It's a good location right next to the canal and within walking distance to the main attractions. The staff were friendly and the room was being cleaned every day. The breakfast is pretty small and continental, so Scandinavians like myself don't really get full. But it's important... More

I travelled with my husband in August 2014 to Venice for 2 nights. Matteo was very helpful and responsive to all our questions. The apartment was actually a few doors down from the inn. It was spacious and clean with a washer and kitchenette. There was no wifi, however Matteo did give us a key to access the inn's lobby... More

We had a nice stay at this small B&B. It is placed in a calm area close to everything. You have a good air condition at your room and the WiFi connection is really good. The room and bathroom are nice and clean. The breakfast is okay, but not great, I am a hungry Scandinavian so I went hungry from... More

This B&B is located just a few minutes walk from the Grand Canal. The rooms were big, nicely appointed with full bathrooms. Breakfast was served on the first floor at tables set for the occasion. Matteo was an excellent host. The walk from the vaporetto stop passed through a Piazza where we stopped to refresh our thirst. The great thing... More

We stayed for 4 nights, and this hotel was perfect for our needs. The bathroom was very clean and probably pretty recently renovated, the room was big and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We had both a TV with lots of channels and a nice working AC. We would gladly recommend this B&B to anyone for your stay... More

This B&B is in a great location which is quiet, has easy access to the Zattere and is close to good restaurants, the Accademia and water bus stops. The owner is welcoming, friendly and helpful, and the lovely lady who serves breakfast always greeted us with a huge smile. Our room was spacious and clean. Highly recommended for anyone looking... We stayed here for 2 nights. We loved the location (quiet but convenient) and would definitely stay here again. I read the reviews and was prepared for a very hard bed, but knowing it was the first leg of our trip and that we would be exhausted, I decided we could manage. The bed was every bit as hard as... Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
