Was our 4th trip to Venice and although our others places have also been lovely, we wanted to try the Costello area because it is more residential ..B and B Gli Angeli is very convenient to the Arsenale vaporetta stop...a 2 minute walk..very convenient to everything you could need...Sonia very graciously gave us a large apartment with well equipped kitchen... We stayed at this adorable B&B for a night just a few weeks ago. It was cozy, comfortable and came with more than we needed. The room is equipped with a microwave, toaster, fridge, coffee machine and even has a great little breakfast table set up. Location was easy to get to as long as you take the 4.2 water... More

We recently stayed at this delightful b&b in Venice. The location is amazing, a short walk from the vaparetto stop and also from St Mark's Square. Sonia was very helpful and leading up to our visit answered our emails promptly. The direction to find the b&b were spot on. There is one flight of stairs to climb. The room was... More

My husband and I stayed here for three nights and were delighted that it was in such a quiet area of Venice, yet within a five minute walk of St Mark's Square. Tucked behind the Naval Museum, away from the canal, Sonia, the owner, has thought of most things to make a guest feel welcome. However, the shower head in... More

A wonderful place to be. Just five minutes from St Mark's square but in a quiet and authentic neighborhood. Room (Camera d'oro) was delightful: spacious and very clean; kitchen perfect for and well equipped even for everyday use. On top of that a wonderful private garden and the discrete but extremely kind and helpful presence of Sonia, who helped us... More

Myself and my husband stayed in this beautiful B&B in May 2012. I was 6 months pregnant at the time and so it was important we found somewhere that was the perfect walking distance to St. Marcs square. It was a lovely 10 minutes stroll up to the square and it is situtated in a quiet area where many of... More

If you want to enjoy a cozy holiday in Venice, if you want to cook with your spouse in a well-equipped kitchen and sit in the small garden downstairs, this is your place. It was ours, as we spent six cozy days in this thoughtfully decorated home. Sonia, the owner whose thoughtfulness made our experience memorable, lives on the upper... More

B&B Gli Angeli (2161Campo de la Tana, Venice, Italy) Owned by Sonia who was very communicative and helpful with any questions we had and there were many as Venice is not an easy place to get around. This b&b was in a great location at one end of town at the boat/ bus stop of Arsenale. At this same stop... More

If you are looking for a clean, comfortable and not too expensive place to stay, then this could be it.. Gli Angeli is more like a hotel-in the sense that it has a separate entrance and is not in the same building as where the owner Sonia stays(though she stays in the next building)..It is very conveniently located .. at... Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
