4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

This is my 4th visit to Venice and Ca dei Dogi is easily the best located lodging in comparison to all my prior trips. Tucked inside a quiet alley, Ca dei Dogi is concurrently just steps away and is a nice respite, from the crowded sea of humanity flooding nearby Piazza San Marco. For this trip, I was traveling solo... More

We decided to stay an additional night in Venice , we got incredibly lucky with this hotel ! We got a little lost since its down a little street, but regardless, The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful and recommend a great dinner spot ! Would definitely visit this hotel again !

Our last hotel of our Italian journey and have to say that it was the best of all (all similar class and price range). Its location is really good, less than 100m from the vaporetto, Piazza San Marco in less than 500m. Streets that leads to the hotel are full of charm and the small square in front is wonderful... This accommodation was modern, beautiful and most importantly, clean. 2 mins walk from Piazza San Marco, made it easy to explore Venice. The staff was extremely helpful. Room was a little small, but this wasn't an issue. Would definitely stay here again.

A super hotel for Venice, hidden in the back streets but a stones throw from St marks square. Breakfast was superb and overall I would highly recommend the hotel for its amenities and location. We stayed in the superior room on the top floor and it was great

My husband and I stayed here for our 20th anniversary trip and it was amazing! I would go back to Venice only if I could stay at this beautiful hotel. Small and quaint. Nice roof top patio to have drinks on in the evening. Nice quiet patio in front of hotel for a cappuccino and a rest in the afternoon... More

If you have a car and are looking to visit Venice then this is an absolute ideal location. The hotel is very clean, fresh and modern. The staff are absolutely wonderful. The hotel is tucked away in a quite little alley way just back from the main Plaza and within easy short walking distance to all the major sights within... More

We stayed at Ca Dei Dogi in Venice in 2007 and again in July 2015. It is as amazing as ever. Great room in the best location in Venice just behind the Doges Palace. 2 min walk to Piazza San Marco and the Grand Canal. Stefano the owner and Susanna at the from desk are so friendly and helpful with... More

I really enjoyed staying at this cosy hotel. It is right next to San Marco square but it is somehow hidden in the small alley away from the noise and crowds. It has a perfect location! Easy to find too. The rooms are well furbished, modern, with brand new bathrooms and showers. My room had jacuzzi and it was a... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
