Floriana was definately the hostess with the mostest, everyone was so welcoming, it was like staying with friends. Quiet area away from the madness of carnival week but close enough to be in the midst of it all. Will definately be back again.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Ça' Furlan. A great location, a lovely room and wonderful choices for breakfast everyday. Alberto makes a mean scrambled egg and cappuccino. Our room was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean, with a view over the canal. The location is very peaceful but Is only a short walk to Piazza San Marco.

Excellent and friendly staff, so helpful. We loved the room and for the price we we both over the moon! Excellent part of town away from the madding crowd but able to walk easily to anywhere in the city. We would definitely recommend this to anyone! Thank you ca furlan.

Just back from a mini break to Venice where we stayed at ca furlan. Small, but so cosy and romantic. Staff couldn't be friendlier. Great location also. Very helpful and made great recommendations for dinner and how to use the public transport. Thank you

Venice is an expensive city and this is not a budget option, but it is very comfortable and furnished in a very Venetian way. Easy to find and only 5 minutes' walk from the main waterfront, Riva degli Schiavoni. There are plenty of bars and shops in the area and some good restaurants which the owners recommended and booked for... More

This B&B is located in a quiet and peaceful cul de sac, yet very close to lots of activity - perfectly placed. The owner personally prepares breakfast so it is very fresh and she is very helpful regarding what to do and where to go if you are new to the area (and posted a post card we left -... More

Wonderful hosts who go the extra mile to make you comfortable. They have only been running this B & B for about 9 mos. but they will be in business for a long time because they go to no end to make your stay memorable. Not that hard to find. There is a church on the canal. Turn right at... More

This hotel is at a perfect location close to all the major locations!! It is walking distance from the ferry and easy to find. The place is a small and comfortable B&B, however very clean with a lovely host who will guide you around the best places to see and best restaurants to eat local Venetian food!! We had a wonderful stay here. The location is excellent...in a good area but quiet. We were given excellent directions to get there by water bus. The breakfast was substantial and the room was clean and fresh. We were given the name of an excellent restaurant for dinner. We would definitely stay there again.

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
