According to Google Maps, it is only 700m from the station - however, nothing in Venice is that straight forward. We did get a little lost (and then also on the way back from exploring the first evening). So I suggest you take a close look at nearby landmarks, to help you find your way back. The B&B is lovely... We stayed here for 3 nights in March. From the very first contact with the hotel we were impressed with the quiet efficiency and friendliness of the staff. Once we confirmed the booking we were emailed both a map and written instructions on how to find the hotel which is an easy walk from the railway station, situated in a... More

My Son ( 17 ) and me stayed here for 3 nights from the 28th Oct. 2014. We arrived around 4pm after arriving from the Airport by Bus. The directions we were given were excellent and check in was a breeze. We were given the attic rooms which were lovely, spotlessly clean and had the added bonus of a large rooftop... More

Delightfully quaint and quiet hotel in a perfect spot - very handy for the bus, train and vaporetto stops and for exploring Venice. Charming and helpful staff and spotless, spacious rooms. Breakfast is rather limited, but the dining room opens on to a lovely terrace surrounded by gardens. Would look no further for somewhere to stay on our next trip.

Rooms are huge ... location is excellent (few minutes away from Rialto, 15 mins away from San Marco) ... with lovely churches a stone's throw away. Receptionists were very friendly and served us with a smile; excellent service from start to finish. Only thing I'd change is offer a wider range of things for breakfast. Otherwise, perfect. Would definitely stay... More

We stayed at Ca' San Rocco for 2 nights prior to boarding a cruise ship, after spending a week in Rome and Florence. This hotel is within walking distance of the train station, and is located in a quiet area within easy walking distance of all the main sites in Venice. This was the most "quaint" of our hotels in... We were looking for a comfortable small hotel/inn closer to the train station and away from the touristy crowds, and Ca San Rocco was perfect. For Venice, easy to find with directions from the hotel, staff was very helpful and informative. Even calling to make 2 dinner reservations for us! Felt secure with 2 locked doors to enter and only... More

This hotel is situated close to Piazzale Roma and the train station. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the center, but it is a pleasant walk. The bed and breakfast is very cozy, there is a small garden where you can rest in the evening. Breakfasts are served on the beautiful terrace overlooking neighboring gardens. You can enjoy... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
