We spend two nights along with my sons in this nice and cosy hotel in a very nice position, close to the Canal Grande and Ponte di Rialto. The rooms were very large and comfortable, very well heated during the cold and wet Venetian winter and with supercomfortable bed mattresses. Me and my wife stayed in the Altana suite, provided... What a great B&B to discover, away from the 'touristy' areas and yet the Vaporeto very near by that you can play the tourist if so desired! What a charming area where you can enjoy the Venetian daily life. Wonderful local restaurants around. This B&B is well maintained and the breakfast is very generous - enough to keep you going... beautiful bad and breakfast located in a stunning old building: very classy renovation. Our room was on the top floor, very quiet view wooden roof exposed! The bathroom well decorated and modern. Organic bathroom products. Excellent housekeeping. delicious breakfast. Nothing to complain about! up to high standard even in low season. The girls in reception are all fantastic! highly recommended.

Conveniently located near a vaporetto stop and the train station this small hotel offers a lot. Breakfast in a charming room with a table laden with food that will last you until dinner time. The staff could not be more helpful, accommodating and friendly. I feel as though I have made friends at this lovely Venetian spot. I do hope... More

We booked two rooms. One was the top floor unit with roof access. Tremendous stay. Maria, the manager, was extraordinarily helpful and friendly. The rooms were beautiful with lots of room. Breakfast was excellent. The facility is very well-maintained and designed. Sorry that we only stayed one night. We also stayed at the Ca' Bonavincini B&B which is rated higher... More

This is a lovely hotel that is very personal and with the best service for those traveling in Venice. Great advise from the hosts on traveling around Venice and where to go and what restaurants are best locally. They give great directions also which is a real must in Venice as you can get lost very easily. The Hotel has... More

My husband and I stayed here while traveling in Europe on our honeymoon, and we could not have been happier with our stay. We wanted to stay out of the major tourist area and be in more of an authentic Venetian neighborhood, and Ca' San Giorgio is perfectly located near a beautiful square with bars filled with locals children playing... Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
