We visited Venice in July and stayed here for 2 nights. It was a wonderful hotel that I highly recommend. The rooms were very comfortable, and the staff was incredibly helpful. They went above and beyond in several ways. They even helped called a restaurant for us ahead of time to make sure some of their food had ingredients our... More

Ca' San Giorgio is just a perfect peaceful location, out of the hustle and bustle of nearby Rialto area. We arrived by water taxi which dropped us on the side of the Grand canal about 30m from the door. We had a very warm welcome and a good briefing on the area, along with recommended dining. Our spacious and charming... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at Ca' San Giorgio in Venice (Jun 4-6, 2015). Our room, Il Gato, was spacious, had a comfortable bed, very nice bathroom, and two lounge areas upstairs and downstairs. The breakfast was very nice, with plenty of protein (yogurts, eggs, cheeses, cold cuts) along with the usual breads and pastries, and of course custom... More

Having recently got married, we decided our honeymoon should be a tour of Italy - first stop Venice! The Ca' San Giorgio like many have said is fantastically located. Close to 2 different Vaparetto stops, 5mins from the main bus/train terminus, away from the hustle and bustle of the main touristic areas, but only a few minutes walk if you... More

Wonderful B&B in a quiet part of Venice. Close to the port and train station. Great rooms, all very well appointed, lovely breakfast area, wonderful sitting area downstairs with tea and coffee available. Loved staying here away from the hustle and bustle of St Marks square. Once the outside door to the courtyard was shut, it was a haven of... More

This is the second time we have visited Venice and stayed in this beautiful small hotel. Excellent location in the city with some great restaurants only metres away. Ideally located from the train station too. Spotlessly clean, good wi-if service and nice breakfast. Special mention for Maria on reception who really looked after us and helped us out on all... Couldn't fault Ca'San Giorgio. Staff were friendly. The room was fantastic. It's brilliantly situated close to a less touristy square, frequented by locals. Close to good restaurants and Vaporetto stop. We loved it!

This is an incredible place: a charming small hotel with all facilities you need (clean, comfortable, quiet, delicious breakfast buffet) and the nicest staff you will ever meet (Maria is amazing!), all this at an affordable price and walking distance from the old city centre. Great restaurants just around the corner. Warm recommendation!

This hotel combines superb customer service with a wonderful and perfectly situated hotel. This was our second visit to Venice and second time staying at this hotel, it makes our visit. The room is comfortable, the breakfast delicious. They go out of their way to be helpful.

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
