Staff very friendly and helpful- going the extra mile, got us into our room as soon as possible despite us arriving early to the hotel and gave us recommendations and useful tips. Location, room and breakfast also excellent. No complaints. Will definitely stay here again if I ever visit!

We really enjoyed our visit here! The hotel is conveniently located near 2 water bus stops. The neighborhood is quiet and away from the tourist buzz. The hotel is small but unique and beautiful. Our room was very spacious with a canal view. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly especially Tilly and Jessica.

This hotel is off the beaten track yet within a short walk of most places. It is a very nice "listed" building. The room was very large & was spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the hotel. The staff were all very helpfull especially Tilly on reception. He was a credit to owners. We stayed in August 2015 when... More

This is a lovely, small hotel. I knew when I made the reservation that they didn't have an elevator but it was still frustrating pulling three weeks worth of luggage up the stairs - A double set of stairs so if you are on a long holiday I might suggest another location. The front desk staff was very cordial and... More

We loved this hotel! It's a ten minute walk from the train station and it's such a beautiful hotel and the room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really good. There is a sweet restaurant just over the bridge from the hotel and in the other direction you will find... More

We stayed two nights and really enjoyed the quiet and comfortable rooms. AC! Good breakfast, and excellent concierge work by all 3 shift front desk agents. They are super friendly and helpful. The site locale on website and Google is incorrect, so it took an extra hour and a half to find them when they are much closer to bus... More

We have just returned from a 2 night stay in this beautiful hotel. A little off the beaten track but within a few minutes walk of all the main attractions it is in the perfect location. We had a water taxi take us right to the door and Tilly came out to greet us. He (and the other reception staff)... More

The hotel was a little difficult to find even though we've been to Venice before, but it's not a big deal. The hotel itself is beautiful even though it needs a lot of restauration. Our room was ok with a stairway up to the bed, it was like a mini-apartment. Our only complains about the room is that the floor in... More

The location of this hotel was not bad and the staff was very helpful and held our bags for us after we checked out. We only stayed for a single night but the room was very spacious. My major complaints revolve around the bed which wasn't terribly comfortable and the room showed signs of water damage which makes me leary.... More

The hotel is right off the main path, and it is located very near the area where the locals reside. It is a charming boutique hotel with a wonderful staff. We were greeted by Tilly, who was very inviting and informed us of all the places to see while in Venice. The room was the perfect size- plenty of room... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
