We booked a "Double Superior with Lagoon View" room. What a waste (of a lot) of money. The view from the peer is identical and if you choose to visit Venice, you don't want to waste your time watching the view from your room anyway. People should understand that this hotel is located on the peer and lagoon view room... More

We stayed at a Tribute to Music at the end of our Mediterranean cruise. Our room was very large with a view onto the the lagoon. The bathroom was also large and very clean. The decor is a little old but it is Venice. Like a lot of Europe the beds are twins. The breakfast was fine, cereal, coffee, tea,... More

I booked this hotel due to the rooms looking stunning in the photos and as it was my 30th birthday i decided to pay a little extra to get the lagoon view. On reflection I think I could have saved my money for the following reasons: Despite the views of the lagoon being absolutely stunning - it is so noisy!... More

A Tribute to Music is a small hotel situated right at the edge of the lagoon in Venice. We could not have wished for a better location. The hotel staff are friendly and the place is kept very clean. The decor is quaint and traditionally Venetian and the facilities are quite basic but functional. Each floor is named after a... More

This was a cute hotel right on the water front that we stayed at for three nights. We loved the view from our room. Since it is on the far side of the island from the parking garage it does take 50min or so to get there by vaporetto, but it's an enjoyable ride. The location is great. The staff... More

This hotel is great value for money. Great location looking over the lagoon, so much to see from your windows (if u book the lagoon room view). Most late afternoons spent watching the cruise ships float in..close enough u can touch them. Nice way to start an evening before going out, or watch the hussle and bussel of the tourist... More

Pros: 1) Great location, right along the lagoon waters edge, only 5-10 minute walk to St Marcs Square.. although do expect some noise from the boats sounding their horns from early morning to night! OK if you are only using the room as a bed to explore. 2) Continental breakfast of cereal, fruit, croissants, bread, ham, cheese, salad, yogurts, fruit... More

Not only was the Hotel a very beautiful boutique destination at a great value in a wonderful location but the staff made it exceptional. Germania and Giovana were great hosts...Every room is named for a famous musician, we stayed in the Elvis Presley Suite with a Lagoon View.

What a gem, This hotel sits right on the water front a few hundred yards from St Marks square, the waterbus and a great view across the lagoon. The hotel was very clean, the room had the décor of old Venetian charm and the staff very friendly and helpful. We would make a return visit and highly recommend this place.

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
