Mario & Esmeralda were warm and welcoming hosts. As with most rooms in Europe, the space was small but adequate. We found the bed to be a bit hard and uncomfortable. The morning breakfast was nice with fresh pastries, yogurt, and fruit. Skip the coffee.

Great B&B in the middle of Venice. Beautiful house and room. Mario offered the ultimate service. We had stayed at 2 different hotels in our 10 days stay in Italy and he made the difference. From picking us up from the boat station, to providing us with insightful information about the area and what places to visit to a delicious... More

This B&B is great value in Venice. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The breakfast is basic but good (croissants, bread rolls, jam, yoghurt, tea/coffee/hot chocolate, juice). The location is good, and easy walking distance to most places. The family who run it are very helpful. The B&B can be a bit hard to find (like lots of hotels in... More

Esmeralda and Mario provided great service, clean and cozy room, and basic, but good breakfasts. They also explained us the city with recommendations how to enjoy the city while avoiding the crowds. The location is perfect. Great neighborhood, safe, out of the crowds yet central and authentically Venetian. We enjoyed and definitely recommend the place.

Mario & Esmeralda were very helpful. They take pride in making sure their guest can find the hotel. Mario came to the Campo to meet us, if you have ever been to Venice, it is not easy to find your hotel. You can easily get lost. After Mario met and guided us to the hotel, he gave us insight of... Nice cozy place in the backstreets of Venice away from the hordes of tourists. Just a couple minutes walk from a vaporetto station (S. Stae) and short walk to Rialto bridge. I would recommend this place if you want an authentic experience, it is like having an apartment in a Venice neighborhood for a few days!! Stayed in the room... More

My wife, son, and I just stayed here for 2 nights and had an excellent experience. We stayed in a triple room with ensuite bath/shower and it was perfect. We like to stay in non-chain like places when travelling abroad to get a more personal experience where we can hopefully benefit from interaction with people that live in the community.... More

The hotel is quite a way from St. Marks square/Rialto, but maybe it only felt so far because in the same week we stayed in a hotel right on the square itself. Note- we didn't mind this too much as not a huge fan of St Marks (the tourist beehive of Venice), we much preferred being out in the neighbourhoods.... More

The staff - Mario and Esmerelda - were the loveliest people you could meet! When we arrived in Venice, we had already received a phone call from Mario asking when we would be there. He then met us at the metro stop and walked us to the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel Mario kindly sat us down and... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
