Good-sized high ceiling bedroom with it's perfectly adequate bathroom facilities. spotlessly clean . Lovely garden for breakfast . Elena and Noel are founts of knowledge . Fujiama is within five minutes walk to the academia bridge And within ten of the piazza Roma. Must important of all there are no bridges to negotiate between the vaporetto stop and Fujiama.

Location could not be better, convenient to restaurants, water taxi's and centrally located for where ever you are going. Property was very clean, very well maintained. Elena greeted us and was very accommodating, pleasant and speaks English very well. Food and service was excellent, room was wonderful. Will definately return on my next visit to Venczia!

Only 5 rooms, I think, and Elena treats everyone as an honored guest. She not only recommended a nearby restaurant -- La Bitta -- but even walked us to the door & arranged for a hard-to-get booking that evening! The hotel front room & courtyard are a tea shop during the day, but everything shuts down in the evening &... More

we come to Venice every two years and this is the fourth time we halve stayed at the Fujyama. The welcome is always the same, the place is spotless and a credit to Elena. It is quiet and peaceful yet near the Accademia and some very good restaurants Breakfast with Noel is always a highlight with beautiful croissants, bread fruit... More

The beauty of this B&B is the location. It's in a very quiet area, still many restaurants nearby and not very far from waterbus stop. The rooms are clean, nice breakfast and the owner and other staffs are nice and well behaved. They are always ready to help you and giving good advice about the places to visit in venice.... More

What a find. We visit Venice most years, and this will now be our first choice for accommodation. Elena was so efficient when booking, and such a friendly and informative hostess. And Noel's beaming welcoming smile at breakfast, when nothing was too much for him, and everything served so courteously. We stayed nine nights. So the room (Paris) was a... More

We stayed for four nights in December in the Shanghai room & found it just perfect for our needs. As other people have mentioned- the location is fab & only a short walk from the water bus stop. As it was low season it was never bustling outside but at a nice friendly level of busy. There's a brill pizza... More

This was the second time we have stayed at Fujiyama. In 2012, we had the Shanghai room, which is a little more expensive and larger than the other rooms. We could not have been more pleased with the room, the B&B, and especially the Dorsoduro area in which it is located. This time the Shanghai was not available, so we... More

We were fortunate enough to stay at this wonderful little hidden gem while in Venice. The rooms are very well appointed, very clean and have air conditioning which was great treat as the temperature was 92 degrees. Noel was wonderful to us during our stay and is a wealth of information on places to see, eat and shop. The courtyard... More

We took over the whole B & B for my mother in law's 70th - it was great. Such a lovely setting and the staff are incredibly helpful. Academia is a lovely part of Venice that I've never really explored before and I really enjoyed the area - it has some lovely bars and restaurants in the square.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
