My travel agent booked this hotel for my son and I in December 2013. I arrived first with a dead cell phone and Marco offered to call my son to direct him to the hotel. The place was clean, the breakfast was good, but the service from Marco and staff is OUTSTANDING. I lost my favorite hat while visiting Europe... More

Marco who runs the place is an absolute dear who is very thoughtful, customer centric and anticipates your needs. The B&B utilizes a keypad password system at the main door (he will email you the instructions) to allow customers who have just arrived to be able to get in easily even without a key. No worries about getting stuck outside,... More

The location was close to the vaperetto stop so was very convenient. The price was very good as well. The rooms were clean but there was a distinct smell; could use some sprucing up. The hot chocolate from the store opposite the hotel was excellent!

We stayed here for a few nights in July 2013. Marco was very attentive and ran an excellent hotel. It was very clean and great value. The location is superb, only meters from a vaporetto stop and a lovely stroll to everything else - and opposite a beautiful chocolate and gelati store! Our room had some moisture damage in the... I searched high and low on the internet to find a place we could afford to stay in Venice on our 6 week Euro trip and this place certainly did the trick. The price was unbelievably cheap, it is right near a vapretto stop and a 10 minute walk if that to the Rialto bridge. The breakfast was very filling... More

With a limited budget, I can't imagine having a better place to stay in Venice. Perfect location, easy access, great room, charming and accommodating host. Wi-fi, air con, a very good breakfast, all included--everything we wanted.

We were fortunate to visit Venice again and having stayed in this flat twice previously, considered looking for other accommodation, just for something different. However, we were on a 10 week trip and had enough 'different' things booked already, so decided that the familiar might be rather welcome by then, near the end of our travels. It was certainly the... We stayed here for 3 nights beginning of September. The owner who received was very friendly and served us a nice breakfast everyday.nI had requested a room with a french balcony but unfortunately it was not available. We had a standard room with a bathroom down the hall (only 1 meter from the door of the bedroom) which we could... More

The hotel is nicely situated close to St. Toma vaporetto station and close to Rialto bridge. It is also a very short distance from Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari. There is a supermarket nearby. The owner Marco is very kind and helpful. Breakfast is good, rooms and bathroom are cleaned everyday and air conditioning was a blessing on hot days.... More

This is a very good place to stay in Venice and we would recommend it to anyone on a medium budget. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and pleasant to be in, and in temperatures outside in the 40s the air conditioning was efficient and very refreshing. Breakfast was good and solicitously served by Marco... Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
