This hotel had larger rooms that easily accomodated families. . The rooms for 4 were spacious. Its an old building so you really get that feel for venice. The bathrooms were updated and also a nice size. Easy walk to everything. Breakfast was good. People were nice. I would definitely stay here again.

My friends and I stayed here for a weekend and it has really great prices for its location, we also did a late booking still with reasonable prices! The location is also amazing, only a 10 minute walk to piazza San Marco, and a 2 minute walk to piazza San Margherita which is an place ideal for nightlife! The breakfast... More

Love the location. It was super close to coffee shops, bakeries, gelato, restaurants etc. Also very close to major attractions. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very nice, good cappuccino, croissants, cereal, fruit, yogurt etc. The rooms were nicely decorated, very cosy and the bed was firm but comfortable :) The room & bathroom was also very clean... I found Casa Rezzonico recommended in the Rick Steves guidebook, and was able to book it through the hotel site and an exchange of e-mails without trouble. The location is outstanding, a 20-minute walk (at my fast pace) to all of the main tourist spots and the train station, with a water-taxi stop a few minutes away. The staff was... More

You can't go wrong with this property. It is in a great location and you can walk everywhere. The staff was very helpful with lots of guidebooks and drew a map for me to find my way. I have only good things to say about this place! I liked it so much I booked my NEXT stay with them before... More

This was a nice, lovely calm retreat after walking around with crowds of people. Back yard very peaceful. Some cute backyard birds, a nice change from the red-eyed aggressive pigeons in Piazza San Marco. Weather was great so we were able to have breakfast outside. A real treat to lean out the window and look down onto the canal. The... More

Stayed in a triple with a canal view and it was lovely. The hotel is small but comfortable. Our room was a good size as was the bathroom which was a plus. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There is a small breakfast room that featured a good selection of pastries, fruits and breads. I really liked the... More

Finally a place with a shower you can fit in Lol! Bedroom and bathroom were clean and spacious, breakfast was good (continental). We enjoyed our stay and Matteo and Mattia were both very nice and helpful! No tv, but we didn't mind, there was ac and room safe.

Pride of service exudes from this gem of a hotel near the University. The back yard was a surprise - who'd have thought you could have your own grassy retreat in this compact, ancient city. Highly recommended.

Let’s start with the positives. Room is spacious, bathroom was nice with good shower, plenty of closet space, nice garden view, air conditioning, Wi-Fi (although quite spotty and the worst of our four hotel stays), and a small safe. Location was good as it’s 5 minutes from a vaporetto stop. Breakfast was solid and included pastries, juices, coffee, yogurt, cereal,... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
