This lovely bed and breakfast style hotel is very conveniently located in a quiet neighbourhood. It is one minute from a vaporetto stop. Our room in the annex was huge, with a large couch, desk, and small bureau in addition to the large wardrobe. It was both completely updated with modern bathroom and air conditioning as well as retaining its... More

Loved staying in this great hotel. We were offered a room in either the annex or main building and chose the annex. The room was large, very comfortable and quiet. Before we had arrived we were given very precise details on how to find the hotel and they made our arrival very easy and stress free. Staff at checkin were... More

Excellent hotel, don't get caught up in the star rating I would stay here over many 5 star hotels with no hesitation. The staff were very friendly, it's a great location a short walk from the Rialto bridge and steps away from a vaparetto stop. The hotel was my favorite part of Venice.

We arrived 5 hours early for check-in. Sandro graciously let us in our room and even offered breakfast. What a kind gesture for two travelers just off an overnight train from Vienna. The staff were happy and smiling. The location is great, just 4 stops on the water taxi (7 minutes) up from the train station. The room was huge,... More

The owners, the staff, the room, the location all contributed to a terrific stay at this hotel. Couldn't recommend it more highly as a base for exploring Venice in the best way. Away from the crowds, in a real neighborhood yet convenient to the sights and life of all of Venice.

This hotel was perfect for our city weekend in Venice, the location was just three stops, San Stae, on the vaparetto( water bus) from Santa Lucia train station. After getting off the water bus turn left at the church go over the bridge and on your right there's a stone bridge about 100 metres ahead which is the hotels private... More

I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights this summer. I based my decision on the positive reviews on trip advisor and they proved accurate once more. Reaching the hotel when arriving in Venice isn't too much of a hassle. There is a boat stop just metres from the hotel which is very handy. The hotel itself is split into... More

Lovely hotel, easy to find from the water taxi stop. Room is great: large, clean and huge bathroom. Staff couldn't be more helpful, would certainly stay here again. Breakfast was good, helpful, friendly staff bring fresh coffee

We stayed here on our honeymoon and it was perfect. The rooms were very spacious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was incuded and served in a pretty courtyard. Very close to San Stae station so easy to get around. The air conditioning was essential given the heat and worked brilliantly - so quiet you hardly noticed it. The owner is lovely... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
