We are just completing our stay at this lovely gem of a hotel, and are very sad to be leaving. I wish we could stay another week at least. As always, the best part of this hotel is our hosts, Sandro and Walter. They are both wonderful helpers, guides, etc., knowing the has been a pleasure. They are always ready... More

Staying here for 3 days and love it! Away from the noise and the people here are fantastic. They moved us to canal view without having to ask. They took the time to explain everything and are very focused on making you feel at home. We will stay here again!

This is really reiterating other reviews I have read of this beautiful place to stay. From the warm and gracious welcome, to the beautifully decorated room and bathroom, we were made immediately at home. The breakfast is superb, even more so if the weather is kind enough to allow you to use the beautiful courtyard. We will definitely be back!

Our third stay at this wonderful hotel. All I can really do is reiterate everything that has been said by other reviewers. It really is that good. Lovely quiet location yet so close to the Grand Canal and vaporetto stop. Away from the tourist traps but the main sites are easily accessible. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable; breakfast... More

We stayed for 2 nights following a 10-day Mediterranean cruise. Water taxi took us from the port directly to hotel's water door, where we were greeted with a great (free!) breakfast in the hotel's lovely courtyard. Our room was in the annex, just a 30 second walk from the main hotel building. Room was beautifully decorated and quiet. The area... More

My stay here was lovely. Incredible location just steps from the San Stae valporetto station. The staff was very helpful throughout my stay and even before I arrived! I thought I could navigate to the hotel myself from another part of town...... ha! But 'getting lost' in Venice was a very friendly experience, including the gentleman who was working that... More

It was always going to be an odd feeling - after a cumulative 81 nights in Venice, 36 in t his hotel, with my wife Janet, this was my first solo trip since her death in 2012. I need not have worried - Sandro made me richly welcome as always and it was a good trip. Cannot imagine staying in... More

We have just returned from a perfect Break thanks to Sandro, Walter, & the girls. All of the staff have smiles and laughs and brighten up the darkest day. Breakfast had a good selection and was always fresh. When asked Sandro & Walter recomend good local restaurants and booking you in is a pleasure to them. Had a treat on... More

Great hotel to stay. Location was perfect, near enough to visit all sites but also away from the crowds and noise. The hotel staff was most accomodating, in fact we were welcomed with freshly made cappucino.

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
