Really like this place. Clean cheap and very close to all that you need. We had the top two rooms suite for 4 people. Great view of the canal from the balcony. Thoroughly recommended. Breakfast in room and no reception so you ring the owner when you get there.

Locanda delle Acque is a reasonably priced accommodation in a perfect position if you want to explore Venice. The breakfast is delivered to your room. The rooms are a good size. It is a little hard to find so follow the directions given to you when you book. We were told they also have an apartment in Venice which has... More

We booked this place due to its location in San Marco and its rating. It took a little finding and it was a bit difficult to hear instructions over the phone about how to get in - but this was fine by text. As there is no Reception Desk you need a code to get into the door. Our room... More

Great location from rialto and very easy to find. Great service. Beautiful view of the canal. Enjoyable breakfast. Yes there are a few stairs but well worth it :-) Feels safe and secure. Definitely recommend it.

This small property is right at the centre of action. It has 3 rooms and is extremely close to the Rialto stop. The place doesn't have any reception and the gate can be activated with a code. It is important to carry a phone to contact them as they will provide the code only at reaching the hotel. Simple breakfast... More

This was very clean and cool in hot temperatures and the service with breakfast was good...it was ideal for location to get to San Marco square and near great restaurants and shops. It was a bit strange with no real reception but the call to get in with a code was ok and straightforward. For peak season in Venice it... More

Locanda Delle Acque was the perfect stay for our family of four. Great location, reasonably priced and comfortably. We particularly liked the balcony allowing us to watch the hustle and bustle of the canals over breakfast which was brought to our rooms each day.

Took the Waterbus from the Airport and got off at Rialto Bridge stop. Two minutes walk to the accommodation, which can be a little hard to find in the narrow streets. There is no reception at the hotel, and you enter by keypad and collect key to room from lobby. We had the top floor room on two levels. The... More

Stayed at the hotel for two nights during our visit in Venice. The location is great, breakfast was brought to our room with a cup of cappuccino, juice, white bread and selection of jams. The guy who welcomed us gave good directions to find the hotel (not that it was difficult to find anyway, we came by waterbus from railway... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
