The staff provided the necessary information to help us find the property more easily. The property was located very close to the Rialto station and within walking distance to the center of Venice and its various tourist attractions. Unfortunately, we had to climb 4 flights of step as our room on the topmost floor (4th floor) and there was no... More

Great location, so close to Rialto Bridge and San Marco square. Our children love the room although they have to climb flights of stairs but the view from our room was breathtaking. Breakfasts were delivered to your room with your preference of Italian coffee or hot chocolate for the kids.

We were a group of 4 girls looking for somewhere reasonably priced but clean and in a good location and Locanda delle Acque was perfect for this. A few minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge and close to San Marco Square so really great location. There are bars and restaurants very close but we found the majority of these closed... More

This locanda is well located, right in the city center of Venice, half-distance from Ponte di Rialto and Piazza San Marco. The room is good, clean, and the equipment and furniture are satisfactory. The personnel (one man) is very friendly and correct. However we have found 3 weakness points which could be improved: _1) Each customer should receive a prior... More

For Venice it was a good stay, good location near Rialto bridge with a good breakfast. But in comparison with other places it is marginal. The room and bathroom were a bit cramp, and old fashioned furnished. The bed was a bit too soft. Value for money? yes, for Venice it is. But the main issue was a very steep... More

Location, location, location! Tiny hotel, but clean and well-kept. The door opens digitally using a code so we felt quite safe. The street it is located in is quiet so you will have a good night's sleep. However, the wifi was quite poor and the water's temperature kept changing while in the shower. There are also no staff after 2... More

To get to Locanda delle Acque it is necessary to take a boat or vaporetti Nr 2 which takes you to Rialto Stop. We stayed 2 nights in the unique Venice and enjoyed ourselves immensely. There were 4 of us so we occupied 2 rooms, one above another one, what once encouraged us to call one another through the window.... More

It was difficult to find at first but overall hotel was very nice as was the staff. Continental breakfast was included and was delivered to our room. We felt like we got a good deal for the price and the location was great. It's right in the heart of everything. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend.

While there are stairs to climb, the B&B is well located and the room was comfortable for the price level - it was great value. The proprietor work hard to accommodate our needs and was very friendly.

After a good web search in early 2013 we booked a room in Mr Cobilas' Locanda for five nights in late September 2013. Contact the owner beforehand. This was our first trip ever to Venice. While we were in Rome and shortly before travelling to Venice (since I would not have access to a cell phone to call later), I... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
