This is just a few miles away from Saint Mark's Square and Rialto (Most happening places in Venice). Well maintained, Informative, Easily accessible and pocket friendly. There are pretty good food joints around the hotel. Ideal for solo travelers.

This is a family managed hotel run by two young sisters who are the primary reason you want to book here. They are friendly and enthusiastic about their Venice, and they made me want to be enthusiastic in my love for it too! The rooms are small and amenities are a two star level, but if you are expecting that... More

This hotel was a brilliant bastion and sanctuary in a city where smiles and customer service are unfortunately few and far between. Good value for money, good location, very very helpful and clean and tidy. They recommended where to eat that wasn't too expensive and even once showed us to a restaurant whilst walking their dog. I recommend you to... More

I have a huge smile on my face writing this review... of all the hotels on my 2 week trip across Italy, this was my ultimate favourite! Centrally located, clean facilities and value for money for money by Venice standards. And the service was out of this world. Ambra is an ultimate gem, I felt like she was my personal... More

Warm and friendly staff made our stay at Hotel San Salvador unforgettable. Ambra made sure that our check out and transport to the airport (at 3am in the morning) was all organized and that we knew exactly where to go and how to get there - you might not realize how helpful this is unless it's your first time in... Hotel San Salvador was in an amazing location, just a minute walk from the Rialto Bridge. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Stephania who gave us heaps of tips on what to see and where to eat. Would highly recommend staying here!

We visited Hotel San Salvador in Oct 2015. The hotel is in a great location, literally 2 mins from The Rialto Bridge. The rooms are small but have all amenities (including a small mini bar). Hotel is clean and the ladies who run the hotel are very friendly - ask for restaurant recommendations. Every place they recommended was lovely. The... More

Hotel San Salvador is a small family-run hotel in a quiet alley about a 10-minute walk from the Rialto and Piazza San Marco. The two sisters who manage it are friendly, warm, and amazingly helpful with directions, advice on sightseeing and restaurants and travel tips. The central location means you really can walk to any neighborhood of Venice within 30-40... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
