I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location was great- it's near the train station and water bus station, but you can also walk to the main sights of the city. The hotel itself is located within an alleyway, which seems a little daunting at first, but you soon realise that such alleyways are just part of the... More

Don't get me wrong, some of the previous reviews are spot on. If you're looking for a 4* resort hotel, then look elsewhere. This is a bed and breakfast hotel and a very good one, for its location, close to the train station (you can't hear anything) and a short walk to the coach station, over the 'glass' bridge. My... My wife and I spent two days in Venice and this hotel was a good choice as it is "on the island" and also very close to the train staion and boat station. We had a room at the ground-floor but we weren't to excided about it, as it was strangely located, through different corridors, beyond an inside courtyard, with... More

good location, lovely staff, wonderful coffee. Room was very clean with a great shower and a smoking area outside in a secure place. No safe in room although reception staff are happy to help and place valuables (passports etc.) in the hotel safe.

hotel is well situated, five minues walk from train station, in alleyway off a very lively street, and seven minutes from the ghetto . Hotel staff well all incredibly nice and helpful and sweet. However our tiny tiny room had its (private for us) bathroom across the corridor !!! Which meant we had to walk across in our towels etc... More

We arrived in Venice, excited to begin exploring the city. The front desk staff was very friendly and welcomed us to our room. We were very disappointed when we entered the ground level room that was extremely cramped and very warm, but figured, we'd manage since we would only be sleeping there for one night. After a full afternoon and... More

stayed here with parents for two nights: the hotel is situated rather comfortable, 2 minutes walking from the railway station, close to Piazza del Romo, so you not have to carry luggage far. The staff thoughtout our stay was very friendly, helped in finding good local places to eat and answered other questions. the room was ok, good quality for... More

The rooms and washroom was clean. Beds were comfortable. Not so much noise! Beautifully decorated interior! Classic venetian decor. The only thing is that the reception is not open for check in until the afternoon. Very close to train station Venezia Santa Lucia. Shops and eateries are walking distance.

Stayed here in a triple room in September 2011. Very near the main station. Was here for a night only. There was no elevator so had to lug all our luggage up to the room. The other 2 persons were seniors so had to lug all the stuff myself. The hotel was on an open smelly drain with the entry... More

Stayed here for three nights. Great location - once you can find it. Rooms pretty small. A little loud at night. Bathroom clean and nice. Nice free breakfast. Staff members very helpful and nice. Would definitely recommend it as a short stay in Venice.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
