My girlfriend and I stayed here a week or so ago and were absolutely estatic with the service and room. Extremely helpful staff and very welcoming. Close to everything in Venice, could rate as a 3 star hotel no problems.

If you get the water taxi to drop you off in the right place, it is only about 50yrds to walk. Charming hotel and very welcoming. Near to the Rialto Bridge and not too far from San Marco square. Helpful staff and nice rooms, would recommend to anyone wishing to visit Venice

We took a late flight to Venice, finally arriving at the hotel around 11pm. This was no problem, with the staff being very welcoming. Could be a problem finding it however if you do any sort of prior research, you should find it no problem (like we did!). The quickest way to get here from the airport is the alilaguna... More

We just returned from a lovely weekend in Venice. We spent three nights at the Locanda Novo b&b and found the place extremely charming and full of hospitality. We had no challenge in finding it and would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience a genuine taste of Venice! We are extremely grateful for the precious advice we received... More

We stayed here in the middle of April and kick started our 2 week trip in Venice. Hotel is in a fantastic location, few minutes walk from the Rialto and lovely canal side restaurants and several little Piazzas. We struggled to find the hotel and only found out on our last day that the Ca' d'Oro boat station is just... More

We stayed at Locanda Novo and found it to be in a wonderful location. Heard it was a bit hard to find so we hired a water taxi from the airport on the recommendation from another friend. The driver was really nice and pointed us in the right direction. There is a piazza nearby and you will see a sign... More

Located the perfect distance from a main Street, tucked behind a church, wasn't noisy in the slightest. Great service, we required an early check in as well as luggage storage as we had an evening flight out of VCE...no problems at all!! The place gives you that old Venice feel with antique furniture and top notch glasswork. Only downside was... More

Thanks to a tripadvisor user photo we found the hotel very easily, it is tucked down an alley, and like so many of Venice's buildings its full of character, adorned inside with marble, granite, chandeliers and antique furniture that adds to a wonderful shabby character. The receptionist while didnt speak english was as friendly and helpful as she could be,... More

My husband and I stayed one night at the Locanda Novo. The hotel is in a hard to find but extremely quiet and convenient location. 5 mins from the Ca'doro stop and 7 to the Rialto Bridge. The front desk attendant was very friendly and helpful over the phone when we got lost on our way to check in. Very... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
