The staff is friendly, the room we stayed in on the very top floor was very tiny and had a moldy musty smell especially when the AC was not on. Limited options for breakfast. We also had to lug our extremely heavy luggage up 4 or 5 flights of stairs, I can't remember because I almost fainted by the time... More

Couldn't stop running from room to room checking out and taking pictures of the amazing 360 degree view. Penthouse apartment on what we would call the 4th floor, so you have to climb some stairs. But oh the view is worth it, of lagoon, canals, marina, rooftops, vaporetti, Mulano, even faint mountains in the distance. Huge space by the way,... More

Relatively quite expensive hotel for its location , room quality, facilities or anything that it offers. But it seems like Venice is an expensive tourist destination. We paid about 250 Euros a night per room and we got their Laguna Blu apartments . One of the apartment ( 3rd floor) was spacious with windows and of new taste. The other... More

We booked this location at the last minute and were at first delighted to have found the hotel had an apartment with WiFi, a laundry, kitchen, etc. We thought this would be perfect for our kids, but that delight soon went south. The first night we discovered the washer was full of days/weeks old stagnant water inside of it from... More

This hotel is delightful. Very welcoming and helpful staff, elegant and comfortable rooms, clean and well cared-for. Close to excellent restaurants and a few minutes from the Vaporetto connection to the airport in one direction, and the Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square in the other. For a quiet hotel in Cannaregio this is as good as it gets. Excellent... More

Small hotel, very near ferry to airport. Situated between Rialto and Ca'dOr. Lovely helpful staff, breakfast in courtyard. Rooms small but well-equipped. The staff were extremely pleasant and willing to help. Hope to return again some day !!

Hotel Mignon is a small hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The location at SS Apostoli is near to two water-bus stops. Being in an alley, it was fairly quiet. Breakfast was good, and could also be taken in a garden as well as inside.

Perfectly placed for the vaporettos on the Grand Canal or the ferry to the airport, both just minutes away. Just five minutes walk to the Rialto Bridge, even less to the Ca D'Oro. The staff were extremely welcoming from the moment I arrived, very helpful with maps and directions. The breakfast was ample, I appreciated the good selection of fresh... More

Excellent staff...very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was very good every single day. Rooms are a little small, and the shower is just okay, but it didn't affect our stay. The location is pretty good...probably a little further north than I would have liked, but Venice is so small that you can walk from the north end to the south end... More

Lots of options in the price range, I'd try a different hotel next time, centrally located, satisfactory American styled continental breakfast, the rooms were small, walls covered in fabric with ropes for moldings...bathroom had a tub...quiet, small rooms

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
