Lots of options in the price range, I'd try a different hotel next time, centrally located, satisfactory American styled continental breakfast, the rooms were small, walls covered in fabric with ropes for moldings...bathroom had a tub...quiet, small rooms

As a family of five, it can be tricky finding somewhere to stay on a city-break, but this apartment was perfect for us! 3 bedrooms, a lounge, well-equiped kitchen, large bathroom and all of it immaculately clean. We checked in at the hotel and a friendly man walked us to the apartment. We felt it was ideally located. An easy... More

We were welcomed with a bottle of Prosecco for our anniversary and throughout our stay in Venice the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Great location. The hotel is small and well cared for. A couple of English-speaking news channels was a welcome offering. We would definitely stay here again.

This place is close to the Rialto bridge and few mins away from San Marco basilica but its a long walk from the main train station. The single room was quite small but comfortable & clean. The staffs were excellent . Two things which were little disappointing, I couldn't adjust the temperature of the AC in the room as the... More

I have stayed in a few different places in Venice and enjoyed them all. This one I stayed at for 8 days and worried that it might be too long in one place. From the moment I walked in I felt taken care of. Nothing was too much effort - everyone was so polite and generous with their time and... More

Everything about this hotel is very good and I certainly endorse previous comments about location , helpful polite staff , breakfast is what I would have expected and of good quality and plentiful . A small hotel , well appointed , good value ...very satisfied .

I needed to book three single rooms for a three night stay, and although this was one of the few options it was a great choice. Being within 300m of the Rialto, it could not have really been better placed. The Strada Nuovo was within 50m, and the nearest Vaporetto within 200m. On arrival we were welcomed and shown to... We stayed in a family apartment a short walk away but still enjoyed the free breakfast in the morning. The apartment views were stunning and two minute walk to ferry directly to airport. The hot water and WiFi need improving but the apartment was well equipped and clean. Bonus washing machine and drying rack. No lift but we are all... More

The room was small and smelly. The shower was broken (spilling everywhere) and not had enough water pressure. No drink making facilities in the room. Very limited choice for breakfast and not even toaster was available to warm some cold bread. Must leave key to reception when going out - not secure !

I stayed at Hotel Mignon last spring. Everything was perfect ! Staff was very friendly and eager to help. It was strategically located close to the Rialto bridge and in walking distance from Piazza San Marco. And the room's decoration was simply lovely !

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
