I loved staying at a quiet location, away from the swarm tourists. Rooms are clean and nice, bed a bit too hard, but that's something personal. Basic breakfast, not many tables, so you have to be lucky . People are not very warm; a smile is hard to find...

Just back from a trip to Venice and stayed at this lovely hotel. Because we were a family of 2 adults and 3 children, we actually stayed in one of their apartments just accross the canal. This was very modern and very spacious; two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The staff in the hotel were excellent and the breakfast in the... More

A beautiful old building filled with beautiful furniture and lots of hospitality. Located in a more residentail area, it gave us a real feel for liviing in Venice. Close enough to see many tourist sights including St. Marks Square and Rialto Bridge. Before arriving they were very helpful in answering a lot of questions for a first time visitor to... More

The location of the hotel is what attracted us to the Hotel Tiziano. We have previously stayed in Locanda San Barnaba, which was lovely, but this time decided to stay in a more remote section of the Dorsoduro. There's not much to add to the many reviews here, but in general: 1. The hotel is in very good condition and... More

A lovely, quiet hotel slightly off the beaten track surrounded by beautiful canals and bridges. Even in mid August it was serene and perfect. The staff were just brilliant: helpful, kind and caring. The breakfast was freshly prepared and the rooms had everything you could need. I would go back like a shot!

Our family stayed in a second-floor apartment just a few doors down from the hotel. The apartment itself was very nice, and we appreciated its location, decor, and air conditioning. The kitchenette was useful, and mainly we were just thrilled to be in Venice. We are generally not difficult to please. However, it is important to share two frustrations with... More

This hotel allowed us to experience all aspects of Venice. The location of the hotel is in a quiet residential area of Venice - but in crowded August this was perfect. We got to live and eat amongst the locals which was lovely. We found the hotel easy to find - following the clear instructions on the website. The short... More

The staff is friendly. Beautiful building and rooms. Quiet neighborhood with locals. Close enough to everything. Good service. Only thing we would like to see improved is the breakfast: More selection and a slightly higher quality.

We booked this room for our post-cruise night, prior to taking our flight back home, following a 14 days NCL cruise. This hotel is priced way too high for what you get. Location is not great as it's a bit far from restaurants and shops (some might argue it's an advantage). room A/C unit is not strong enough to cool... More

Extremely friendly staff willing to help in every way. we stayed in an apartment near the hotel reception area and was a lovely, clean apartment. Perfect stay away from the business of central Venice. 5min walk to water bus station and also other resturants/bars nearby. Nice squares and open area along the way to the walk to waterbus station. Thank... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
