Visited in February 2015 for my wife's birthday. Having spent several nights in different areas of Venice in the past, this little hotel is a real Gem! We stayed in a room on the first floor with a view over the outside streets with 2 floor to ceiling windows, this was a very quiet area, well away from the main... More

The hotel is located in a quiet part of Venice, yet within a walking distance to all attractions. Hotel staff is very helpful, bathroom in my room had some issues and I got a free upgrade to a beautiful double bedroom with a view over a canal. No fuss, nicely sorted. Reception staff recommended best places to see on my... More

We stayed two nights in this nice hotel. It is in a quiet neighbourhood but not that far from the center. In fact In Venice nothing is far away. Nice and clean room. the bed was big enough whitch is not allways the case for me in Italy as I am 1m86. Very good breakfast for Italian standards. I would... More

Dear Schulen A, we are really grateful of your review and of course of your stay in our Hotel. The Dorsoduro side is the quietest area in all Venice, and it's not far from the main touristic areas. With a 30 minutes walk you can reach San Marco, or with a 20 minutes Vaporetto ride. Thank you for your recommendation,... More

we booked an apartment which was very spacious and tidy! We weren't far away from the main desk which was good! Service Very friendly. Food Their Breakfast Buffet was lovely! tailored for all tastes.. They had croissants and muffins for the sweet tooth and bread/toast with cheese & ham for the more savoury tastes. They also had cereal, yogurt and... More

Dear TravelWithKel, thank you so much for your positive review, with appreciate critiques, they will definitely help us to improve ourself. About the breakfast service, we are sorry if you didn't appreciate, but we can't place a kettle outside or a machine for coffee, we do not have enough space in the breakfast room, unfortunately. Only 10 mins away from Piazzale Roma but GPS is a must if you don't want to get lost. The hotel is cozy with 3 floors with half a dozen each. Young, nice and helpful staff. Rooms in excellent condition and good breakfast. They serve excellent cappuccino to wake you up in the morning. I was very pleased and will... More

This was a great little hotel that we found on TripAdvisor. It is off the beaten path so don't expect to be near the Grand Canal or in the middle of Venice. But, if you prefer the quiet, it is very nice. It is about a 10 minute walk from the bus station and an easy walk to the Vaporetto... More

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from Roma station and the apartments are located on the other side of the bridge. I thought the apartment was adequate and clean - there was five people in the group and I felt it was big enough for us without getting in each other's way. There is a seating area with... More

We wanted to stay away from tourist center of activity, too noisy. We found the quiet place to stay. A short walk from the vaporetto stop. Please note carting your bags around is not easy in most places in Venice as there are bridges with steps everywhere. This hotel was quietly located in a predominantly residential area. Access was easy... More

First, I'm writing this review considering the room I've stayed, the 301 (bellini). Well, our experience wasn't good - room is on the third floor and, because there's no elevator, after going up with our luggage with no help we arrived in a room that was spacious, charming but, because it's in the rooftop, with no lateral windows (only windows... We stayed two nights at this very nice hotel that is located a good distance from the main tourist area. However, it is only a 5 minute walk to a Vaporetto stop and from there you can quickly (5-10 minutes) get to Piazza San Marco. Getting back is more time consuming (40-50 minutes) but the Vaporetto travels along the Grand... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
