This was a fantastic find, a quaint family run hotel. Each room is unique in shape and decor. Overall the rooms were clean, bright and in decoration, we particularly liked the fabric wall covering in our room. The bed was comfortable. The safe in the wardrobe was sufficiently large for a netbook and was simple to use. The wifi was... More

We arrived from the airport by water taxi to the foyer of the hotel (such a novelty). Very friendly, helpful staff. Typical Venetian décor throughout (quite quirky). Very clean, excellent breakfast of eggs, meats, fruit, pastries. From our window (looking out to a small canal) we could see the Grand Canal just a short distance away. Location could not have... I recommend you this hotel. Because the place is easy to find, the staff are all helpful. They have rooms that is suit for everyone. Free wifi and maps. Love the place because of the location it's near the tourist spot of venice. The breakfast is good, they have eggs, fruits and meats. They are willing to provide what a... More

Such a good choice of hotel in Venice. Centrally located, about 100 meters from Sant Angelo pier, close to piazza San Marco. Free wifi and breakfast, friendly, hospitable staff, comfortable rooms, cannot fault! Canal view rooms are available as seen in one of the photos. This place was a pleasure to stay at during our trip to Venice!

We stayed for two nights in the two bed apartment which is a few minutes walk from the hotel. We received a very warm welcome. The apartment is on a side alley with some people passing, but reasonably quiet. The bedrooms were a good size, working safe and reasonable WiFi reception. The shower was a little small as someone else... More

This was my first stop for food once I got to Venice. Not far from the Rialto Bridge and easy to find. The pizza is delicious and inexpensive. Its a small place but also has WiFi and A/C. I got the margherita pizza and loved it! Always a GREAT choice!!

Oye, where to begin: We wanted a "Venetian" feeling hotel and this hotel definitely had all the decor to fit the bill. The problem was it wasn't a real "hotel". There was rarely an attendant/employee at the front desk and we had no way of getting in touch with someone if needed. At all! The phone even went unanswered! And... More

Lovely service, great value in a place where value is hard to find. Fairly basic but still pretty and feels special. Worth getting a water taxi to the airport, just for the secret exit onto the canal! Good for kids too, nice family room. Absolutely loved it, hope to go back.

We stayed at this B & B for two nights. Located centrally the hotel is walking distance from the centre of Venice. The rooms are clean and decorated in true venitian style. A variety of tasty items are offered for breakfast. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The only downside is that you have to carry your suitcases up... More

Enchanting bed and breakfast in the centre of Venice, olde worlde magic, each bedroom furnished in style, evocative of times gone by, friendly and hospitable welcome. I loved my stay there the atmosphere was fun and totally unique, I felt as if I had stepped back into the sixteenth century but with comfortable mod cons. I am planning to return... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
