My best friend and I have just had the oat amazing trip to venice!! We got a great deal on this hotel considering its central location! (about a 2 minuet walk away from the famous piazza san marco!) As-well as all the main sights being within walking distance, its also in between various squares ... meaning all the more choice... More

The staff at this hotel were so welcoming to us and found us a room late notice after our original hotel cancelled our reservation without us knowing. Breakfast included with a good selection of foods typical to a European breakfast. Close to St March Square. Great terrace on the top floor with a unique view over the Venetian roof tops!... More

The location is great as the hotel lies just 3 minutes away from Piazza San Marco. But because it is in the more quiet back streets there are no noises from crowds. The staff is extremely kind and helpull. When we wanted to stay another night this was taken care of in 5 minutes and our luggage was transfered to... More

A nice hotel, very centrally located. It is on the third and fourth floor, so you'll have to climb a lot of stairs. I had a single room on the fourth floor with a shared bathroom. The room is simple but adequate, it has a good and silent airco. Due to the mosquitoes I could not leave the window open... More

After our original hotel cancelled on us the day before flying to Venice, we booked at this hotel as a last minute solution and I am so glad we did! The hotel is a street behind San Marcos square so it is a perfect location also near to the Vaporetto whilst still having the benefit of offering cheaper places to... More

Venice is an amazing place and its ageing buildings remind you of its history. Thus this was evident when my first stay in Venice was in a place that was falling apart. However, this time our family stayed in Locanda Antica, and the hotel was a good example of being modern but still upholding its historical charm. The service was... More

The highlight of our trip to Italy was our stay at Antica Venezia!!! The location was amazing, on a quiet alley but very, very close to San Marco Square. We had two rooms - one for our four kids and one for us. Our rooms were very comfortable and it was wonderful to eat breakfast on the rooftop patio every... More

The hotel is in a very convenient location, just a few minutes walk to the docks and the royal palace. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice with internet and breakfast included. The main downside is that there is no elevator and the rooms are located several floors up. Luckily the receptionist will help you... It was clean. But near the Piazza, Rialto bridge is about 15 minutes. No elevator pack light because it's on the 3rd floor. Breakfast very simple. It's the basics here. Shower , sleep and store luggage. Cereal, toast coffee yogurt free wifi. - I had a weak signal in the room you may need to go to the hall

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
