Very nice hotel in central Venitian neighborhood, a few minutes from the major tourist sites (St. Mark's Square and Rialto bridge, etc.) in a picturesque narrow street ending about 30 ft later by a canal. The hotel is very well kept in an old Venitian building and the staff is wonderful. Mr. Luca is extremely helpful with information concerning Venice.... More

Stayed only two nights here, could have stayed longer. Definitely a great location and easy to remember where it is without a map. Five minute walk to either San Marco or Rialto bridge. Rooms are a very good size and I have been informed that they will be renovating soon and upgrading facilities. Luca was a delight and more than... More

It is in the heart of Venice, walking distance to Rialto and San Marco. Rooms are very large and very clean. Prices are the lowest in this location. Luca is very hospitable and gives wondeful advices. If you have limited busget it is one of the best options. (If you have unlimited budget stay in a Palace in Venice! )

We loved the room and the staff was very informative and helpful. We stayed in the top floor room which was large and had a nice size washroom. Very clean and it had a nice soft bed. Close to everything you need with a nice restaurant right across the walkway.

Our third Italian B&B for our trip and this one was also perfectly located to wander central Venice. Luca is an excellent host and on arrival showed us how to get around and where to see the best of Venice. The room was very nice and the public areas are all very tasteful. Although it is right between the Rialto... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
