The location, slightly off the beaten tourist routes, but ever-so-convenient for taking a Vaparetto from Marco Polo, offers a quiet, chic, and modern option to otherwise overpriced and worn accommodations. The room was streamlined, air-conditioned, sexy and perfect for a romantic getaway, and the service was friendly and beyond reproach. If you want to experience more of a local, Venetian... More

Ca'Pozzo Inn is down a quiet alleyway but it is easy to find. It's within easy walking distance of the train station and the car parks but the location is quiet. Most importantly, the rooms are clean, new, spacious and come with air conditioning (not every hotel room at this price does). Breakfast was great and the price for the... More

Ca'Pozzo was a little hard to find (it's a tiny little street just 100m or so from the Guglie Alilunga water bus stop) which made it super convenient, just a little hidden away. Which actually was why it was so quiet and very lovely for our two day stay. I love the area that the hotel is in called Carneggio.... More

Very nice hotel with stylish modern decor. Excellent breakfast served outside and in a lovely decorated room. Cleanliness is impeccable. Samanta, the lady at the reception is very nice and helpful with any kind of requests and restaurants' recommendations. I would certainly return to Ca' Pozzo while staying in Venice.

This place was a sigh of relief when your not sure what you are going to get in a foreign country. Well worth the price, the rooms were modern and somewhat luxurious and the continental breakfast was great! It's a strange and smelly entrance to the place because of the nearby restaurant and seafood market but don't let that deter... More

We stayed here for two nights before we joined a cruise. Their instructions to find the hotel were needed as it is down the end of a narrow alley but close to a vaporetto stop and walking distance to cruise terminal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is decorated in modern art and rooms were very attractive.... More

It was our second stay (for four nights) in Venice and in Ca'Pozzo. We loved everything: the peace in the hotel, the quiet location, the friendly service, the beautiful and modern rooms and the tasty breakfast. One small minor point: the bed in room 107 creaks a bit.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Ca' Pozzo Inn. Great location. Our room was comfortable with a large safe to place valuables, a bath to soak in at the end of a long day exploring and best of all an air conditioner and a room that was cool on our return after the record breaking heat. Breakfast was... More

Ca' Pozzo Inn was a great hotel to stay in. We stayed here for three nights, but wished we had stayed longer. Unfortunately, we already had a hotel booked in Rome or we would have. It was in a great location and the room was very nice. We were able to walk to the hotel from where the boat dropped... More

This is a very well located hotel - 15 minutes from the train station, 5 minutes from Vaporetto stop, just around the corner from the main route down to San Marco and the rest of the madness, and next to the Ghetto. Yet, at the end of a small alley, decorated with modern art and simple elegant furnishings, it is... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
