Good location very near the train station you wont have a hard time to carry your luggages no bridge on the way to the hotel, The Room we got is on the 2nd floor so the wifi signal from the lobby reaches the room. Our room has 2beds plus1 sofa bed, free breakfast from 8-10am at the ground floor... :)

Hotel had a strange smell when entering and front desk staff for the most part were quite unfriendly. Room 208 was in attic with low head room in shower and near bed, no AC, mosquitos at night. No late check-out. On the other hand, breakfast was decent and in a nice room. The hotel's atmosphere is authentically Venetian and location... More

We booked this 203 euro night hotel due to location near people mover and were greeted by a poorly laid out room so small you banged your head on the sink if you sat on the toilet. Stairs galore even with a lift and despite the need for air circulation the suddenly non English speaking very indifferent and downright rude... More

Check in neglected to tell that the room we were given (605) was up a staircase after going up to the first level in a lift. Had to drag my heavy luggage up about 20 Stair with a bad knee and back. The inadequate signage to tell us it was upstairs also didn't help. The walls aren't plaster and are... More

The front desk staff was quite unfriendly and we didn't really feel welcomed. The room was dark and smelled of some kind of strange perfume. Admittedly, the interior was rather fancy although the bed was too short (I am about 1.89m) and there wasn't even a table. There were two places where cables came out of the wall, one over... More

Stayed in a superior room with a double bed and an extra bed. Enough room as I stayed solo. Quiet too, as the small window was to the backyard. Not too nice scenery there, though. The closet for clothes smelled funny, the room smelled extremely scented (some flowery old lady smell...). The air condition was sometimes working and sometimes not.... More

Pros: - Location: Very near to the station and water bus station. - Breakfast. - Decor. Cons: - The Reception Staff: The worst there is. Very slow, RUDE and not helpful at all. Some even don't bother looking at you while asking. - NO FREE WIFI: WiFi is 5 Euros per day AND its not available in the rooms, only... More

The location of the hotel was great, Very near the train station and boat stop. Decent Breakfast. The staff was not bothered about customer's convenience. We traveled with a baby and were provided a room on 2nd floor which did not have elevator. We had to climb 2 flights up with the luggage and baby and could not take the... More

Get out of Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia station flank a left, walk about 150m on Rio Tera Lista di Spagna, Belle Époque is on your left. Entrance is kind of unimpressive soon to realize most of the hotels around that area looks the same. Staff: front desk staff is rude & not helpful. I'm sure you know this already... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
