Me and three other friends stayed here for our entire 4 nights on the island -- and couldn't be more delighted with the outcome. With its spectacular location, gorgeous views and a friendly, relaxed environment, Casa Cosmo is ideal for those not looking solely for a party on Morro de Sao Paolo. It has a phenomonal hammock set up, with... More

the room was exactly as in the pictures. It was very clean and quite big. The location is great, though a but hidden and quite difficult to find at first. within walking distance to Rialto and San Marco. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Great Price! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Casa Cosmo was in a great location right between the Rialto bridge and St. Mark's square. The owner, David met us at the bridge and guided us to the hotel the first time and after that it was no problem. It is right in the middle of great shopping and eating. The staff were super pleasant and always eager to... More

I wanted a reasonably priced room close to San Marcos to enjoy the evening dancing and used Hotels.com to find this price/location. I was happy in almost every detail with my choice. I did use the main street from the Rialto "C" stop and got 90% of the way to the hotel but had to call their desk to escort... More

A pleasant lodging house in a highly convenient location and reasonably priced (by Venice standards). The walk to Piazza San Marco is but a few minutes in one direction and the Rialto Bridge a few minutes in the opposite direction. The side street on which the hotel is located is very quiet, if initially difficult to find. The staff is... More

The numerous reviews give an accurate description of the place however my aim is to give a fairly accurate direction guide as it can be tricky in reality no matter how straight forward it looks on the map. If you go straight down the street directly opposite station C of the Rialto Vapareto stop and keep going past a white... More

Clean, quiet, good location, friendly staff all at a reasonable price. It is just a few minutes of walk from Rialto, from which you can take water buses to all around the city. Nice cafés around to have daily meals.

We stayed 2 nights in September. The room was a nice size for European standards and was comfortable. The air conditioning worked very well and kept the room very cold; this was a pleasant surprise as other hotels I stayed at in Italy although there was air conditioning, they barely worked. The shower was larger than any other we had... More

Davide is a great host and is there to help and point you in the right direction. You'll find some great pino nero near San Lio opposite the Coup (Convenience Shop). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book here again when we visit Europe again.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
