Stayed for two nights, room was lovely with views over the Grand Canal. Location is idyllic, next to Santa Maria basilica and near Peggy Guggenheim. Hotel staff provide an excellent level of service. It's a 30 min walk or 1 stop on the water bus to St Marks.

Arrive by water taxi from the airport or by water bus from the station, only a 2 minute walk from Salute on route 1. A wonderful welcome by handsome gentlemen speaking good English. They don't keep you hanging around for long on arrival, a nice welcome drink and nibbles in the lounge and luggage transported up to your room by... More

Just back from Europe and some time in Italy. I found Ca Maria Adele online by googling around looking for something different in the boutique hotel line.....Ca Maria Adele did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived by water taxi at the door, to the cosy sitting room and glass of Prosecco waiting for us this boutique hotel was a... More

Beautiful hotel with very friendly and attentive staff. Excellent location, centrally located and just outside the really touristy area, right next to vaporetto stop. Breakfast was included and delicious. Very charming appearance inside and out. We stayed in the ground floor room, which was good to avoid the steps, but felt quite close to the lobby. Room was a bit... More

This hotel was by far one of our favorite hotels ever. The service was wonderful. We were welcomed with a nice glass of prosecco and biscotti after a long day of traveling. The rooms were beautiful and had an unbelievably comfortable mattress. I can't say enough wonderful things about our stay. Oh and the breakfast was delicious!!!!

We booked the private boat transfer from the airport and arrived in style at the hotels owns mooring, where we were welcomed with prosecco and tiny homemade biscuits. Our wonderful luxurious room 339, was on the top floor with triple views of the grand canal and the Santa Maria Della Salute church next door across the little canal - thankfully... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
