For price, location, amenities, and service I cant believe there is a better hotel in Venice. We stayed 5 nights there recently and wish we could have stayed 5 more. First, I think its the best location in Venice. Dorsuduro is less touristy but close to major attractions and some great shopping and pubs. They have their own dock and... More

we took a private water taxi from the airport direct to the hotel and what a perfect way to arrive, we were warmly greeted by the friendly and helpful staff, on arrival 2 glasses of prosecco . Our room. Was very comfortable and had a view of the canal which was nice. You were given a breakfast menu each evening... More

I booked this for my boyfriend birthday six months in advance after reading an article in Conde Nast. We visited in early March and the weather was on our side. As soon as the water taxi pulled outside the hotel we were in heaven. Prosecco and homemade biscuits were offered during the check in, a very nice touch. I had... More

From arriving by water taxi the first impression of the hotel was excellent! Small boutique hotel location perfect as not in the busy area but a lovely walk away. We walked most days for hours exploring and never felt the hotel was anything but ideal location. The weather has been hot around 28/29oC would not want to stay here late... More

The very last thing you want when visiting Venice is a cheap hotel to spoil your mood. Feeling romantic? Ca' Maria Adele is the answer. Small hotel with only a handful of rooms, all with their own individual scheme, but all with a Boudoir feeling (check out their website) The bathroom has everything you could wish for, including the usual... Stayed here for my wife's birthday and it was perfect. Everything from the location which is really excellent, to the lovely rooms and the great staff was exactly as we had hoped. Impossible to fault. If you are a couple looking for somewhere special Ca Maria Adele is a first rate choice.

My now husband, then boyfriend took me to Ca Maria Adele in February 2010 while we were in Venice to propose. He reserved the Sala del Doge for us for a few nights and the room was STUNNING. I have never been in such a beautiful hotel room in all of my life. I honestly felt like royalty staying there.... More

We stayed two nights recently at Ca' Maria Adele and overall really liked the experience. We had organized private transfer from the train station to the hotel (at a not so inexpensive 120 euro one way) and upon arriving the staff was very friendly and had us sit in nicely decorated room while we waited. As other reviewers have stated,... More

Stayed for two nights, room was lovely with views over the Grand Canal. Location is idyllic, next to Santa Maria basilica and near Peggy Guggenheim. Hotel staff provide an excellent level of service. It's a 30 min walk or 1 stop on the water bus to St Marks.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
