I stayed here with my mum on a girls weekend - we loved the location, due to the vaporetto stop near by it made travel really easy. The hotel is very venetian with beautiful decoration and stepping out meters from the grand canal. Its an easy ride to St Marks Square and I would highly recommend the hotel. We had... More

We love this hotel and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. It's in a lovely part of Venice, close to the Academia Bridge, and overlooks Santa della Maria Salute church. The hotel is magical and we can't wait to go back!

The hotel location is super convenient to get to -- mere steps from the Salute vaporetto stop. Since Venice is the ultimate walking city, we only took the vaporetto a few times when we felt lazy. The hotel is close to the Accademia bridge which takes you over to San Marco and environs. The neighborhood is quiet since it's a... More

Second stay at this somptuous Property and the standards are kept up very high: discreet, one-to-one service, great intimacy, very refined decor, Christmas Spirit throughout the Hotel with music, smells, and magnificent décorations... The location is unique in the beautiful preserved and upscale Dorsoduro. The owners work in situ to guarantee perfect follow-up with guests....front desk -day and night- is... More

Solo trip to Venice (my first visit) and booked four nights at Ca Maria Adele after reading a recommendation in the WSJ by an expat living in the city. A special trip in between business weeks elsewhere in Italy. It is a small hotel on Dorsoduro just across a little canal from Santa Maria della Salute. The place feels like... More

This is an attractive hotel although the room we had was a bit small and the bathroom was located two flights up on a mezzanine floor - not ideal in the middle of the night. Also the seal on the door of the shower was a bit loose - not what you expect in a 5 star hotel. Staff were... More

One of the best hotels we've ever stayed at - period. Fantastic location in the quieter / high end area around the Guggenheim - arrival by water taxi to the jetty is how to do it - but only metres away from the vaporetto stop. Interiors are rich and sumptuous but unlike a lot of Venetian hotels very tastefully done.... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
