We loved Venice and this hotel was superbly located. No rooms with a view but you get what you pay for. Clean and compact. Bed was comfortable and we had no problem sleeping. Very pleasant obliging lady served us breakfast, which was more than ample. Only disapointment was the pregnant Signora in front of house who was particularly sour faced... More

Newly refurbished room. Compact but typical for Venice. Helpful staff, great breakfast and great location for Rialto and St Marks. Water taxi pickup just a few yards away. Really helpful staff. Can be a little difficult to find until you get your bearings.

The small, but perfectly formed Antica Casa Coppo is hidden away in Venice but in a perfect spot to explore the Rialto and St Mark's Square. We stayed here for two nights before joining a cruise and found the hotel to be everything we needed - small, friendly, good breakfasts, comfy beds, quiet position, air conditioned, free wifi and affordable.... Great location, walking distance to the vaporetto stations, and helpful staff at the reception. This is a nice accommodation, keeping to the Venetian theme. Cosy and warm. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

This is a very well located boutique hotel in the heart of Venice. Unfortunately we arrived late at night and reception was closed and we weren't given instructions on how to find the hotel, which is very difficult to find even in daylight. Other than our poor start, our stay was comfortable. The rooms are fairly small but to be... More

We had a very quiet, spacious and clean room. The location was perfect. We had 2 room keys and 2 entry cards, potentially very useful. We weren't sure which bell to press on arrival but that was all part of the fun in finding the place. Collazione was truly extensive, could not have been better. The Venetian lady who let... More

As I write my review, and read 'recent reviews' on this same page, my opinion of 'Antica Casa Coppo' could not be more positive, than the the negativity these portray. Please do not allow these comments sway you away from this charming period property. I booked my stay here with the view that it was a 'Bed and Breakfast'/small and... More

Don't bother staying here. Terrible service and extremely rude hotel manager. Husband received electric shock and burn from hairdryer which required hospitalizing. Hotel offered a refund and decided not to pay it. Much better places to stay in Venice.

Response from Hotel Director: Dear Eurotrip3, we would like to inform you that when you put a turned-on hairdryer into a sink full of water, it would have the same effect everywhere in the world. Or at least in our hotel the electrical system is maintained and controlled on a regular and frequent basis, so that you hurt you only... More

We were there for two nights. This was very small and old. Our room was very uncomfortable. We had to walk sideways between the end of the bed and a wall that extended out into the middle of the room. This room was very musty smelling so we put the air conditioning on in hopes that would help. NO it... More

This review is unfortunately posted on the wrong location. The facts which are here reported, didn't happen into our hotel, which is indeed clearly not a 4 star hotel and nowhere represented like that. We already asked to the Travellers to produce proof of their stay here to TripAdvisor, which indeed they were not able to produce, still TripAdvisor is... More

Short walk from vaporetto and easily found from useful directions provided. Interesting room, a bit tight for space, could remove one chair to make more room. A very good breakfast. The staff are really lovely. I would want to have given five stars but here is my advice to anyone booking. Be aware that the top floor is up two... More

Dear Trevor, thank you for your nice review, we are happy that you were satisfied with the experience at our hotel. As the most part of buildings in Venice we actually don't have a lift, nor the possibility to build one, due to the special laws directed to preserve ancient buildings as our is. Luckily the rooms of our hotel... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
