Great location - tricky to find (typical of Venice), but they gave excellent directions via email. A very lush breakfast, nice big room. Unfortunately, upon checking out, I pulled back the covers all the way and found blood stains on the sheets that DID NOT BELONG TO US! When I discussed this with the front desk upon departure, his response... More

A lovely spot, centrally located and about 20 mins walk to Rialto Bridge. We booked here after reading positive reviews on this site. And we weren't disappointed. The hotel itself is steeped in history and has pleasant decor. The lift was a bit small so we had to make several trips, but that was not unusual. We were a group... More

We stayed at Ca' Angeli in 2009 and liked it so much, when we planned this year's visit to Venice, we didn't even look at other places. It's in a nice, quiet location not far from the Rialto. Our room looked over the Grand Canal, so that was a nice treat. Breakfast is nice, with plenty to choose from. It's... More

Great hotel off the beaten path but close to Rialto bridge and right on the Grand Canal. One of the owners, Giorgio greated us and gave us so much good advice on how to find good places to eat, get away from tourist areas, and just general wisdom like take a break and have a Gelato when getting tired walking... We found this hotel on tripadvisor and booked it with one of the advertised companies, only to find if you book direct with the hotel it will be cheaper! It's location is it crowning glory, neatly tucked away and so close to all the action. Clean, comfortable room not big but functional. Not a lot of space for clothes, probably... More

Situated just off the Grand Canal, this pleasant B&B offers a lovely historical feel. The room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was plentiful, we sqeezed our own fresh orange juice, and the choice of continental was great. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, going out of their way to accommodate to our needs. The view of the Grand Canal... More

This little B&B was located in a pretty central area which was very convenient to most of the attractions around Venice, but enough away from the crowds and noise. There are many small shops and restaurants within a few minutes walk. As to be expected with any old historic residence that has been "re-purposed", it has its little quirks, but... More

My wife and I found Ca' Angeli to be a pleasant and well-run b&b on the Grand Canal, though contrary to initial impression from the website the building does not actually front the water. The gated courtyard entrance is down a narrow street about 100 feet back from a pier that juts out into the canal, providing good views in... More

I highly recommend this hotel when visiting Venice. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff at reception are all welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served in the dining room which overlooks the Grand Canal. The hotel is located in a good position. Not in the real busy area but a ten minute walk to San Marco square.... More

This hotel proved to be a great base to explore and enjoy Venice. There's a feeling of friendly sophistication about this angelic spot. Friendly service and helpful advice to make a first time visitor to Venice feel at home. The top floor room we had felt like a studio apartment, although there wasn't much of a view. We had to... Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
