My wife and I found Ca' Angeli to be a pleasant and well-run b&b on the Grand Canal, though contrary to initial impression from the website the building does not actually front the water. The gated courtyard entrance is down a narrow street about 100 feet back from a pier that juts out into the canal, providing good views in... More

I highly recommend this hotel when visiting Venice. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff at reception are all welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served in the dining room which overlooks the Grand Canal. The hotel is located in a good position. Not in the real busy area but a ten minute walk to San Marco square.... More

This hotel proved to be a great base to explore and enjoy Venice. There's a feeling of friendly sophistication about this angelic spot. Friendly service and helpful advice to make a first time visitor to Venice feel at home. The top floor room we had felt like a studio apartment, although there wasn't much of a view. We had to... First, thank goodness for a Trip Advisor review that let us know that the vaporetto was not stopping at San Silvestro. Since we had a group of 6, we took a private taxi from the train station that dropped us off right at the hotel. Much better than dragging big bags from Rialto. A bit disappointed that the hotel did... More

We stayed at Ca' Angeli for three nights in December and had a wonderful time. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, with someone helping us carry out suitcases up the three flights of stairs as the lift was not working when we visited. The breakfast room is gorgeous and the buffet breakfast was one... More

This little hotel lies in the heart of Venice within walking distance from almost every interesting place to see. You are received very friendly by the owner who gives you valuable advice for your visit. We accepted the offer of a free taxi ride to Murano. If you are lucky the only room with a terrace on top of it... More

We stayed in Ca Angeli for 2 nights in March. Got room 22 which overlooks the garden, so it was really quiet at night, which made for a restful sleep. The room was a triple room, and we were pleasantly surprised to see the beds were huge and comfortable, with plenty of pillows. The bathroom came with a bathtub, though... More

We stayed here for two nights in February 2015 for Carnevale. There were three of us, which is often hard to accommodate for a B&B, but our triple room was terrific. It was actually a suite and so a great value for the money. We had two bedrooms, a private bath and a large room with a sitting room. It... More

Single parent, travelling with my two teenage children. Their first time to Italy and to Venice. Accommodation was pretty good with a large room, and a good bathroom. Breakfast and sitting room was delightful with great breakfasts and lovely ambience, over looking the Grand Canal. Ca' Angeli is easily accessible by Canal Taxi or by foot, and all major tourist... We (2 adults, 2 boys aged 7 and 9) stayed at Ca'Angeli for 5 nights over Christmas, 2014 and couldn't have been happier. We all shared one room with 4 beds in and were very comfortable. There was a lovely private bathroom with plenty of very hot water throughout the day. Everything was clean and comfortable and very quiet. It's... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
